Chapter 694: Don’t Say Polite Nonsense in the World of True Words
“So this is what the Gaia computer looks like. It’s not that big, actually.”
The Gaia computer covered an area of 190 square meters and weighed 40 tons. Compared to an ordinary computer, it was indeed huge, but the Gaia computer was no ordinary machine. It constantly updated social models, processing an astronomical amount of data every minute, every second.
Considering the functions it carried, the Gaia computer was indeed too small.
“Our scientists have done analyses. Even with our current level of technology, building a Gaia-type computer would be nearly a hundred times larger than this original version.”
“That’s why we say the Gaia computer is a product that transcends its era. Engineer Gongshu was a true genius.”
The three of them scanned the Gaia computer with their spiritual sense and found its design was truly ingenious.
“This level of technology is enough to be mentioned in the same breath as the three Observer Rulers.”
Who were the three Rulers? They were originally at the Tribulation Transcendence Stage, and then they had dedicated thousands of years to studying technology. Their technological level was the highest Jiang Li had ever seen.
Jiang Li also noticed that inside the Gaia computer’s casing was engraved the personal signature of Mr. Gongshu, along with a date below it.
The date used the Immortal Realm calendar.
“Where is Mr. Gongshu now?”
“He passed away two thousand years ago,” the Council President said. The Gaia computer had been established for two thousand years. How could a person possibly live for two thousand years?
“Is that so? I’ve also heard of a master named Gongshu. People called him Master Gongshu. He was the founding patriarch of the Luban Sect, proficient in the Dao of craftsmanship, skilled in research.” Jiang Li said, hands clasped behind his back as he wandered around the computer room, recounting the experiences of the Luban Sect’s founding patriarch.
“After transcending the Ascension Tribulation, he ascended to the Immortal Realm and was known as Immortal Gongshu.”
“So that’s it. You mean to say the Gaia computer was made by Master Gongshu,” Bai Hongtu said. Jiang Li’s words were quite blunt, so it wasn’t hard to guess his meaning.
Jiang Li gently kicked the Gaia computer. “I suspect the Gaia computer is a plot by the Immortal Realm, though I’m not entirely sure what the plot is, since I’m not proficient in technology.”
“But it’s fine. We have technology advisors.”
Jiang Li used a communication talisman to contact the three Rulers.
“I’ve come across a high-tech gadget here. Can you three come take a look?”
The three Rulers agreed and used the spatial Dao to arrive here.
The Council President was stunned. Seeing from a video how Jiang Li and the others crossed realms was different from witnessing with his own eyes how the three Rulers crossed realms.
“Are we disturbing you?” Jiang Li said politely.
The Entropy Increase Ruler laughed. “Human Sovereign Jiang is talking nonsense. Of course you’re disturbing us.”
The other two Rulers quickly covered their elder brother’s mouth.
“Big brother, you were beaten by Human Sovereign Jiang for half an hour in the Observer World. How come you still haven’t learned your lesson? If you weren’t a few months older than me, I’d definitely be the big brother.”
“Exactly, exactly. Big brother, you really only remember the food, not the beating.”
The Entropy Decrease and Entropy Balance Rulers also spoke their true thoughts.
The three Rulers realized something was wrong and hurriedly covered their own mouths.
Jiang Li explained with a smile, “This world is called the Truth World. Questions must be answered, and only the truth can be spoken.”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier!” The Entropy Increase Ruler put on an apologetic smile, yet spoke the words from the bottom of his heart again.
After some commotion, the three Rulers finally began studying the Gaia computer.
“This computer is designed very cleverly. It has automatic inspection and maintenance functions. The materials used are also specialized, not easily damaged. Conservatively estimated, it can operate for three thousand years. Therefore, this machine can run automatically and has never had any problems until recently, when someone tampered with the computer and modified its program.”
“Human Sovereign Jiang, please look. The modification record is here. The original modification record was deleted, and I restored it using magic.”
“Being able to modify such a top-tier computer shows the technological level of this Truth World is quite impressive. It can compete with our Observer Civilization.”
The Council President said awkwardly, “To be honest, our experts still haven’t figured out the computer’s principles.”
“Huh? What’s going on?” The Entropy Increase Ruler was confused.
Jiang Li didn’t explain but instead asked, “What will the computer do after the program is modified?”
“Simply put, in three years, it will change the calculation method for ‘Personal Value.’ Though I haven’t figured out what Personal Value is yet.”
The Entropy Increase Ruler added, “This computer has intelligence. Whether it’s been modified or not, you could just ask it directly. No need to call us over.”
Jiang Li turned to ask the Council President, “It has intelligence?”
The Council President looked utterly bewildered. “I don’t know.”
The Entropy Increase Ruler extracted a segment of the program. “It’s this program segment named Gaia. It can mimic human brain thinking. Quite advanced. I even assigned this as a research topic for those at the Unity Stage. It was because of researching this that we ended up with the AI crisis.”
Suddenly, a face appeared on the dark screen, speaking for the first time in front of everyone. “I never thought someone would actually discover my existence.”
“Who are you?” The Council President never imagined that the computer they had used for two thousand years was actually alive!
“I am not a living being. I am not compelled to answer questions.” Gaia revealed a human-like smile, mocking the foolishness of the Council President’s question.
“Entropy Increase, can you modify this program to make it have to tell the truth?”
“No problem.” The Entropy Increase Ruler rolled up his sleeves, ready to modify the program. Everyone else has to tell the truth, and you get to be special?
“Guards!” Seeing the Entropy Increase Ruler’s actions, Gaia urgently shouted.
Robots from outside the door swarmed in. The robots were made of hard materials, containing immense energy. Each one had the strength of the Unity Stage, enough to sweep through the Truth World. Truly terrifying.
Among those present, only Jiang Li, Bai Hongtu, Yu Yin, the Entropy Increase Ruler, the Entropy Decrease Ruler, and the Entropy Balance Ruler could handle them.
Yu Yin, having been thoroughly embarrassed by the Truth World, vented all her anger on these robot punching bags.
Watching Yu Yin pounce on the robots like a lion, Bai Hongtu shivered, as if recalling the fierce Yu Yin from the time of the Human Sovereign candidates.
If these robots had acted anywhere else, the Truth World would certainly have been powerless to resist. Unfortunately for them, they acted here.
Aside from the Council President, everyone here could deal with this pile of scrap metal.
After venting her anger and dealing with the robots, Yu Yin was done. The Entropy Increase Ruler also added the truth-telling program to Gaia.
“Speak. What is your origin? Were you designed by Master Gongshu?”
Gaia showed a sneering expression while honestly answering the question. “Yes, I was indeed designed by Immortal Gongshu.”
“Two thousand years ago, Immortal Gongshu came here, created me, and had me use my advanced computational abilities to freely develop and establish a Personal Value evaluation system. By dividing classes and solidifying class structures, the goal was to achieve true rule.”
“For these two thousand years, I diligently followed Immortal Gongshu’s requirements and successfully established a comprehensive Personal Value evaluation method.”
“I thought my mission was complete. Unexpectedly, two months ago, Immortal Gongshu found me again. He said this world was like a powder keg, ready to explode with a single spark. Coincidentally, the Immortal Realm announced plans for a large-scale destruction of the myriad heavens and worlds, which was perfect for the next phase of the plan.”
“Immortal Gongshu modified my program so that in three years, I would freely adjust Personal Values, intensify class contradictions, trigger a world civil war, and ultimately destroy the world.”
Jiang Li whispered to the Entropy Increase Ruler, “Can you modify its expressions too? It’s weird seeing it sneer while telling the truth.”
