Chapter 1847: 1844: Hundred Beast Mountain Trial!
Chapter 1847: Chapter 1844: Hundred Beast Mountain Trial!
Li Chen nodded and walked straight toward the 1500-pound stone lock.
Immediately, he took a deep breath and did some simple warm-up exercises, preparing very thoroughly.
However, when he picked up the 1500-pound stone lock, he felt extremely relaxed.
It was as if in a Hengdian movie, like those props made of foam, very light.
He even doubted whether the stone lock was fake.
Seeing Li Chen picking up the 1500-pound stone lock so effortlessly, everyone present was dumbfounded.
The instructor in charge of the assessment, Guo Da, even rubbed his eyes hard, wondering if he was seeing things.
“Li Chen, can you lift a heavier stone lock?”
Li Chen thought about it and replied, “I can try!”
Seeing Li Chen accept the challenge, Guo Da ordered someone to bring over a stone lock weighing 2000 pounds.
As soon as Li Chen got his hands on it, he knew he could still lift it easily.
However, he didn’t show it.
He deliberately pretended to struggle.
After all, with his current weak strength and many unknown secrets, it was better not to be too high-profile, to avoid unnecessary trouble.
After the assessment, Aqing came over.
She looked at Li Chen up and down like a curious baby.
Being scrutinized by her made Li Chen feel a bit embarrassed, so he smiled awkwardly and asked, “Hello, is there something wrong?”
Aqing laughed heartily and said, “Nothing, just curious. You don’t look like a Hercules at all, how can you lift a weight of 2000 pounds?”
Upon hearing her words, Li Chen was stunned. He did not directly answer Aqing’s question but casually replied with a question.
“I didn’t expect you, who appear weak, to have such strength.”
Hearing Li Chen’s question, Aqing couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Then, she vigorously patted Li Chen’s shoulder and said, “From now on, we’re classmates. My name is Aqing. Please guide me!”
Seeing Aqing’s way of greeting, Li Chen thought in his heart, she’s really a tomboy.
But, for this straightforward and unaffected personality of Aqing, he still appreciated it very much.
Li Chen returned a friendly smile to Aqing and said, “My name is Li Chen. Nice to meet you!”
Just then, Zhao Qinglan ran over.
“Brother Li Chen, how did your assessment go?”
Aqing saw Zhao Qinglan and smiled, “You have a friend, so I won’t disturb you further. See you at the academy!”
After saying this, she turned and left.
While passing Zhao Qinglan, she inadvertently glanced at Zhao Qinglan with the corner of her eye.
At the same time, Zhao Qinglan was also looking at Aqing.
Their eyes collided mid-air.
But soon, they separated again.
“Brother Li Chen, who is that woman?”
Zhao Qinglan pointed to Aqing’s receding figure, very curious, and asked.
Li Chen thought for a moment and said, “Her name is Aqing, just met during the assessment!”
Knowing that Aqing also participated in the Physical College assessment, Zhao Qinglan was very surprised.
“She also took the assessment?”
Li Chen nodded and replied, “Yes, right. And she lifted the 1500-pound stone lock!”
Upon hearing Li Chen’s words, Zhao Qinglan was so shocked she widened her eyes, her mouth hanging open for a long time.
You know, even a typical Hercules can only lift about five to six hundred pounds.
That slender, somewhat delicate-looking girl could lift 1500 pounds, which was simply unbelievable.
In the evening, the assessment results were basically all out.
Of the twenty-seven people from Zhao Village, three passed the Spiritual Academy assessment.
Five passed the Physical College assessment, three passed the Magic College assessment, and two passed the Military Academy assessment.
Counting Li Chen, exactly half passed the assessment.
And Zhao Qinglan was very rare, having Dual Spiritual Roots.
This achievement can’t simply be described as excellent; it’s overwhelming.
That night, they drank and celebrated.
Three days later, Zhao Zhong led the fourteen eliminated disciples of Zhao Village away from Royal City.
In the following days, Li Chen and Zhao Qinglan entered their respective colleges for cultivation.
Imperial College is vast, with an overall area of eight thousand square kilometers, larger than Shanghai by a quarter.
Therefore, even though Li Chen and Zhao Qinglan belong to the same college, they don’t often see each other.
Time flies, and half a year passed in the blink of an eye.
Six months later, a very shocking news echoed through the entire academy.
The academy organized a trial for the new students.
Hundred Beast Mountain Trial!
As the name suggests, Hundred Beast Mountain is a place where Demon Beasts gather.
The mountain has nine levels, corresponding to the nine different levels of Demon Beasts from one to nine.
Demon Beasts have Demon Cores inside them, and the higher the rank, the stronger the Demon Core.
Based on the rank and quantity of Demon Cores, corresponding points can be exchanged.
Points can be exchanged in the academy for pills, secret manuals, divine weapons, and other cultivation resources.
For instance, a first-level Demon Core can be exchanged for 20 points, a second-level Demon Core for 100, a third-level Demon Core for 500, a fourth-level Demon Core for 2000, and a fifth-level Demon Core for 10000 points.
It’s only specified up to the fifth-level Demon Core because, since the founding of Imperial College over ten thousand years, the highest record is of a genius named Jii Feng, who hunted a fifth-level Demon Beast.
In ordinary trials, the top-ranked could hunt fourth-level Demon Beasts.
The majority of disciples can only operate in the outer regions of Hundred Beast Mountain, which are from levels one to three.
To ensure the safety of these students, the academy provides each person with a signal flare for rescue.
If they encounter danger that they can’t handle, they can fire the signal flare for help.
The accompanying instructors will hurry to rescue them upon seeing the signal.
However, by doing so, rescued students lose their qualification for trial and must exit early.
The trial lasts seven days!
Seven days later, they must return to the foot of the mountain to meet. If they’re overdue, their scores will be zeroed.
After repeated explanations of various rules and precautions of the Hundred Beast Mountain trial from the academy instructors, students were allowed to move freely.
For many, this was the first trial of their lives.
Thus everyone appeared very excited, forming hunting teams of three to five people, eagerly heading towards Hundred Beast Mountain.
“Want to team up?”
Aqing saw Li Chen by himself and quickly walked over, smiling while inviting him.
Li Chen couldn’t refuse, so he smiled slightly, “Of course!”
