Chapter 160: The Battle
“So you are saying, the Medimus Princess and the others are still at the camp?”
Alexius asked from his bone throne.
“Yes, terrifying Great Demon Lord, oozing with festering sores.”
The Shadow Eye Demon replied with standard Abyssal praise.
Alexius did not respond. He waved his hand to dismiss the Eye Demon.
Hearing Abyssal praises so many times, he still hadn’t gotten used to it. He always felt his skull throbbing and anger burning.
Alexius kneaded the Shadow Succubi, frowning.
The Goddess had only one chance to act in the short term. It was unlikely they would waste this opportunity on him. There might be some trickery involved, but it wasn’t something he could engage with. If he were truly struck by the Goddess’s projection, he would likely have no choice but to return to the shadows.
Alexius thought for a moment and decided to stay put and wait out the opposing crusade army.
It was fortunate that he had just become a Demon. If he were a natural Abyssal Demon, he would likely have charged straight in, regardless of conspiracies or life and death.
Athena floated toward the former fortress, swift and elegant as the wind, casually killing any Demons that spotted her. Around midnight, she arrived near the Abyssal Lair.
The majestic Northern March Fortress no longer existed. The sky was shrouded in ominous shadows, radiating indescribable chaos and evil.
Athena’s eyes gradually turned pale gold. She gazed at the indescribable Abyssal Lair, her expression revealing gravity and relief.
“Is it very dangerous, Your Excellency Ancestor Goddess!”
A clear, girlish voice issued from the lips of the golden-eyed Athena.
“Indeed, very tricky. He is an old Abyssal Archon who has achieved the trinity with the Abyssal pseudo-Divinity and pseudo-Authority granted by the Abyss. He can communicate with the Abyssal source consciousness at any time.”
“Any Demon below the rank of Lord will be transformed into a shadow form by His indescribable influence, becoming a so-called Shadow Demon. As for ordinary creatures, they either die or are transformed into shadow kin. And this is merely the unconscious leakage of the power of the Abyssal Dark Pseudo-Domain.”
The golden-eyed Athena controlled Her divine power, speaking to Athena’s consciousness in the sea of consciousness.
She had some things She didn’t tell Athena. Even She had not fully mastered the Domain of Elegance. Compared to the old, titled Archon who had fully mastered the Abyssal Dark Pseudo-Domain, She was still a bit too immature.
“Fortunately, the Lord of Darkness’s power is too immense, and the Inner Plane’s aversion and rejection of the Abyss and Hells are extremely strong. Until now, His projection has not completely broken through the barrier.”
The Goddess of Elegance’s projection continued speaking to Athena in the sea of consciousness.
Outer Plane of the world, Kaya Mountain, the divine domain of the Goddess of Elegance.
Her main body lay languidly on the divine throne. Aleias’s soul fed Her delicious divine fruit. In front of the divine throne was a clear spring, displaying the image of Athena.
As a true Deity, She had achieved real-time synchronization, mental frequency alignment, and shared consciousness with Her projection within the world, realizing the unity of all selves in the Inner and Outer Planes.
She could use divine power to create multiple projections, each with the strength of an Epic Hero. Because the divine power consumption for each projection multiplied, even She, as a new Deity, found one projection to be about the limit.
As a Deity, She could create thousands of weak clones. These clones had at most the strength of ordinary Heroes, or even mortals. Because they were weak, they had no use other than experiencing the vicissitudes of the mortal world.
The projection of the Lord of Darkness possessed the strength of a Demigod, made even more terrifying by the boost from the Abyssal Lair. Fortunately, He had not fully arrived, so there was a chance to defeat and kill Him.
The golden-eyed Athena, bearing divine power, elegantly faced the indescribable entity that would drive non-divine beings mad. The light of divine power shone brightly. The divine power skirt armor on her body transformed into a white long dress, elegant and dignified.
A pair of bare feet stepped onto the void, walking straight toward the Abyssal Lair.
Every step She took carried the rhythm of elegance, aligning with the Domain of Elegance in the Great Source, drawing powerful strength from the invisible elegance.
With each step forward, the Domain of Elegance expanded, vying for brilliance against the indescribable darkness of the Abyssal Lair.
Heaven and earth seemed to tremble. The ground cracked in the collision of invisible domains. Dark clouds churned. Ominous auras seethed. Countless dark kin crawled out of the shadows. They clamored and roared, angrily charging toward the barefoot, white-robed, golden-eyed Athena, who was slowly advancing in the void.
Athena did not pause. Her momentum was already building. In a battle of domains, one must have an indomitable dominance. Retreat meant certain death!
The Great Source of the world pulsed. The Abyssal consciousness roared. The powerful existences of the Outer Plane all turned their attention to this battle in the Salia region of the Inner Plane—a battle between God and Demon, Domain against Domain, Elegance versus Darkness!
They cast their ancient gazes here. This was the first time since the start of the new cycle of civilization that an Abyssal Archon had invaded the Inner Plane. According to an ancient pact, the Abyss was permitted to invade the Inner Plane, provided He could be summoned.
“Medea, Goddess of Elegance, seems to be a new Deity. She hasn’t even fully mastered Her Divine Domain. Facing an Abyssal Archon is a bit of a stretch.”
An ancient existence whispered with divine thought.
“More than a stretch—it is like throwing an egg at a rock. A projection of a new Deity trying to defeat the projection of a titled Archon, and in His Abyssal Lair no less. It is simply madness.”
Another ancient existence spoke directly with divine thought.
While the ancient existences chatted like an audience beneath a stage, countless spirits of elegance were born around Athena. Carrying the rhythm of elegance and accompanied by rousing music, they wielded various weapons and fought with the kin.
Athena’s form remained unchanged. She stepped forward barefoot, one step at a time, accompanied by ripples of the Elegance Domain appearing in the air.
Sacred light gradually rose around Her, enveloping Her completely. A pair of exquisitely beautiful hands extended. Elegant and rousing music suddenly swelled, as if someone were beating a great drum.
In the fair hands, a point of cold light appeared. Athena raised the cold light to Her lips and blew gently.
The power of the Elegance Domain, accompanied by this breath, whistled out from the cold light, instantly enveloping the entire Abyssal Lair.
A silent whisper that could invade the human heart began to appear. An indescribable fear, non-divine in nature, carried a massive shadow that surged toward Athena, blotting out the sky.
The incommunicable, indescribable existence seemed to reveal His fangs—Abyssal Archon Dorkabach!
Darkness instantly counter-invaded the Elegance Domain. For the barefoot, white-robed Athena, every step became extremely difficult. Without hesitation, She took the exquisite conch horn from Her chest, placed it to Her lips, and blew gently.
Boom!
