Chapter 219: No One Left Behind

Ace, dressed in his black Magic Robe with the hexagram badge flickering, reached out and hugged Romon and Marina tightly, comforting them: “It doesn’t matter. That’s not important! As long as you are safe, that’s all that matters.”

He paused, then continued: “Father, Mother, I have something important to tell you. I am a Wizard!”

Romon squeezed his eyes shut. His pride wouldn’t allow him to cry in front of his son. Hearing Ace’s words, he opened his eyes and asked in a small voice: “What is a Wizard?”

Ace extended his hand. A Lesser Spell Model appeared in his palm.

Crackle!

A Lesser Fire Missile appeared in his hand. Guided by Ace’s mental power, it struck the wooden bed directly, burning a fist-sized hole through it and exploding inside, shattering the bed into pieces.

Then, Ace said to the stunned Romon and Marina: “This is a Wizard. More accurately, an Advanced Wizard Apprentice. Using a mortal body to ascend the path of the supernatural. Supernatural knowledge is the Wizard’s power!”

Romon looked at Ace, feeling that his son had become somewhat unfamiliar. Then he thought of the desecrators the city-state had been investigating a while ago and couldn’t help but ask worriedly: “Son, do you worship a Demon or a Devil?”

Hearing this, Marina cried worriedly: “What should we do? I heard that Demons and Devils take the souls of their believers. My poor little Ace…”

Seeing his parents’ reaction, Ace said with amusement: “I worship no one. This is the power of knowledge. By studying the notes of predecessors, researching and imitating Monsters, I pioneered the path to the supernatural for mortals.

Father, do you remember the Whomping-Willow tuber? That was one of the ingredients for the Mental Overdrive Potion. That was when I achieved Mental Overdrive and stepped through the gate of the supernatural.”

Romon recalled the subsequent surge in the price of Whomping-Willow tubers. It seemed many people said it was effective and often secretly asked him for usage tips. His face turned slightly red as he said: “As long as you don’t believe in Demons and Devils, it’s fine. Dean from the Royal Family is still at the residence. We have to find a way to escape quietly.”

“If there is only one Pseudo-Hero in our residence, you don’t need to worry. I have already killed him.” Ace replied lightly.

Romon, hearing Ace’s careless tone, was shocked and said: “Are you sure you killed a handsome young man with blue hair, seven feet tall?”

When Ace nodded, Romon gasped and said with a grimace:

“That was a Pseudo-Hero, and a Royal Scion at that! You can even kill such a powerful Divine Descendant? Wizards are that formidable! But you’ve caused a huge disaster. We can’t wait. We must run immediately!”

Ace looked at his anxious and somewhat panicked father and said calmly: “Don’t worry. Have Carson organize the estate personnel to bring grain, livestock, seeds, tools, and precious metals to the fishing port near our estate, and then burn the entire estate. I have prepared a fleet, and it will arrive soon.”

Romon looked at Ace skeptically and said: “There are over 3,000 people, plus a huge amount of grain, wine, livestock, and precious metals. Do you have a hundred sailing ships?”

Ace smiled slightly and replied: “You’ll see when the time comes. Take the people and goods to the fishing port first. Daina will meet you there. I’m going to Medimus City first.”

Romon grabbed Ace and said: “What are you going to Medimus City for? We’ve caused a huge disaster. Instead of fleeing quickly, you’re running into the wolf’s den?”

Ace pressed Romon’s hand comfortingly and said: “The Royal City shouldn’t have reacted yet. I’m going into the city to take Daina’s and Bayen’s families away while I have the chance. They are my important aides. I must give them peace of mind.”

Marina, who had been silent, sobbed and said worriedly: “Little Ace, you must ensure your own safety first. If there is any danger, just run!”

Ace looked at Marina’s worried eyes, nodded solemnly, walked out of the room, activated Flash Teleportation from his Soul Sanctuary, and soared into the air.

Accompanied by an eagle cry, Ace transformed into an eagle of his own size in mid-air. Protected by a tight Mana-Crystal Protection Membrane, he flew toward Medimus Royal City.

Flash Teleportation greatly accelerated eagle Ace’s flight and gliding speed. In less than an hour, he arrived near the Royal City. The Royal City was heavily guarded late at night, with figures moving about. He circled nearby, flying back and forth, using Insight Perception to observe the situation inside and outside the city.

Medimus City-State had learned from the destruction of the Northern March Fortress. On one hand, they sent Dikens to lead the army to guard the border with the Demon territory and built a fortress there. On the other hand, they strengthened the defense of the Royal City. Dozens of teams of Divine Descendant Inspectors patrolled the city and suburbs, repeatedly checking with Wonders that detect evil.

Ace landed in the nearby jungle and transformed back into his human form.

“I definitely cannot fly directly into the Royal City. I would likely be shot down in mid-air. It’s not like before; the defense is too strict. I can only wait for the Divine Descendant Inspectors to change shifts and transform into a button to enter the Royal City.”

Subsequently, Ace gently stroked the cowlick on his head, said “Use Concealment,” transformed into a button, performed the corresponding mass reduction, and slowly rolled to the roadside leading into the city to lie in wait.

About half an hour later, Ace stuck to the bottom of a soldier’s foot and entered the city with the mud.

After the soldiers completed the shift change and were on their way back to the barracks to rest, Ace rolled out from under the soldier’s shoe and transformed into a black cat.

The black cat spoke in a strange cadence, cleaned itself with Mana, and then ran toward the First District.

Ten minutes later, black cat Ace leaped lightly into the residence of Daina’s family. According to his knowledge, Daina’s brothers were unmarried and all lived here.

In a short while, Ace charmed all of them. After confirming no one was missing, he told them to wait there together, then turned and went to Bayen’s house.

Old Bayen’s wife had died of illness a few years ago, and his son had been beheaded by barbarians in a battle for the city-state. Only a twelve-year-old grandson was at home.

When Bayen went out to pursue the path of Magic, his biggest worry and guilt was this grandson.

Black cat Ace infiltrated Bayen’s home, directly charmed and controlled his grandson, then used Imperfect Transformation to turn him into a button. He cast Mass Reduction, held the button in his mouth, and ran to Daina’s home.

Daina had three brothers, and her parents were both alive. Her grandparents had passed away early. Ace transformed the five of them into buttons as well, cast Mass Reduction, and put them in a small cloth bag.

Dawn was breaking. Through the sixth page of the Grimoire, Ace informed Daina to take the estate’s people and goods onto the Magic Ship first and go to the former Sea Raider Nameless Island to wait. He would find a way to leave the city after daylight and rendezvous with them at the agreed location.

After receiving the message, Daina immediately said to Romon: “Uncle Romon, Lord Ace has notified me. He wants us to take everyone and everything onto the ship first. He will find a way to leave the city after daylight and meet us at the agreed location.”

Romon looked at the six sailing ships, then looked back at the dark mass of estate people and the large amount of grain, seeds, livestock, etc. He motioned Daina away from the crowd and whispered to her: “With only these few ships, we must abandon most of the slaves and property. For absolute safety, no one else can stay!”
