Chapter 245: The Path of Dreams

“The Elemental Theory is merely a hypothesis. The myths and legends of this world believe the world is composed of four basic elements: Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind, and other material elements are derivative combinations of these cornerstone elements.

Although no loopholes have been found in this theory in practice, and Wizard Apprentices have even derived relatively complete theoretical applications based on the generative and restrictive relationships of elements, this is an empirical summary lacking strong experimental evidence.

We haven’t yet discovered the microscopic world. Current research can only observe molecular structures; more fundamental particles are unknown. This hypothesis can serve as an auxiliary, but I cannot base my foundation on a hypothesis that has neither been falsified nor proven.”

Ace pondered, ruling out one possibility first.

“Next is the upgraded version of Advanced Magical Trickery. ‘Speak and the law follows’ is very tempting, but this spell, composed of Simulation Runes, is only enough to become a 2D Spell Model. Deducing it is too laborious and unlikely to be decided in a short time. Moreover, knowing everything but specializing in nothing might not be suitable as a foundation.”

Ace ruled out another possibility.

“The current magic paths can be divided into six categories: Elemental, Astrology (Prophecy), Life, Soul, Covenant Summoning, and Alchemy.

Is there a way to encompass all paths?”

Ace thought seriously. He opened his Grimoire, looking at the Soul Runes one by one, falling into deep thought.

Suddenly, he stood up abruptly and slapped his forehead.

“I almost forgot the important thing. More than half a month has passed, and the Magic Network hasn’t been restored!”

Ace hurriedly went to the top of the West Tower. It was too late to cultivate a new Dream Clone.

Just like that, another week passed.

Ace left a Formal Wizard-level mental imprint in the gigantic Dream Crystal Sphere. He guided the mental imprints of other Wizard Apprentices to cede some computational resources, reconstructing the public dream space of the Magic Network.

“Using the imprint network to reconstruct the Fantasia… Although it lacks the intelligent support of the Dream Clone, the Formal Wizard-level mental imprint can ensure mechanical operation. It shouldn’t be a big problem.

This crystal sphere has never had a name. Let’s call it Fantasia.”

Ace inscribed the word “Fantasia” in the Common Language at the bottom of the crystal sphere, then restarted it.

Wizard Apprentices logged into the Magic Network one after another. After checking several times and confirming there were no major issues, Ace looked with satisfaction at the “Fantasia” Crystal Sphere, which was gradually generating mist.

“If only I could manifest the Floating City from the dream space into reality… Pity it’s all fake. Fake?”

Ace muttered to himself, as if he had thought of something.

“That’s right! The illusory dream is perfect for me to accommodate all paths, constantly use trial and error, and finally manifest the correct path into reality!

Construct a World of Dreams within the mental space. I need such a spell as a foundation, using other Spell Models as auxiliaries, to explore the subject of transforming illusion and reality, ultimately turning the void into substance and manifesting dreams!”

This was a potential-filled idea, but the current Ace hadn’t found the doorway yet. He decided to continue analyzing the Dream Crystal obtained from the Dream Snake, aiming to fully analyze the Dream Rune Group within it first.

If he wanted to construct a 3D Spell Model directly right now, he could simply copy the 3D rune structure inside the Eye of Hallucination. However, he wanted to construct a Spell Model with greater potential, which required more research and experimentation.

Time quickly reached late April. Senior Knight Squire Ancestar led twenty-five Mid-level Wizard Apprentices and Mid-level Knight Squires to the Northern Mining Area.

Mid-level Wizard Apprentice Eddie, Mid-level Apprentice Caruso, and Mid-level Knight Squire Donna were among them.

Ancestar signed up voluntarily because he felt he had fought this strange Monster group five years ago, and he had an obligation to eliminate these strange and terrifying Monsters.

Donna used to be madly infatuated with Ancestar. After being explicitly rejected by Ancestar multiple times, she stopped mentioning her affection and instead asked to learn the method of Knight cultivation from him.

Ancestar only meant to deal with the troublesome girl. Bound by the Knight’s code, he was forced to teach her. To everyone’s surprise, she actually comprehended the creed, transforming from a Lesser Apprentice into a Junior Knight Squire. A few years later, Donna was now an excellent Mid-level Knight Squire.

Seven people in this group were Knight Squires. They all rode a specific type of Contract Familiar: the Winged Gale Horse.

This was a low-level Monster accidentally discovered by Ollie, the Advanced Wizard Apprentice proficient in Wind Element magic, in the northern city-state of Norton. This Monster didn’t have powerful attack power, but it moved extremely fast—even powerful low-level Monsters found it hard to catch up—and could fly at low altitudes.

She went to great lengths to capture nearly thirty of these Monsters and brought them back to the High Tower Territory. She did this for only one reason: her dearest brother Arno is a Knight.

A true Knight needs a suitable mount!

Ollie cultivated a total of two Winged Gale Horses at the level of powerful low-level Monsters. One was given to Arno, and the other to Ancestar.

Most Knights established intimate Familiar Covenants with this Monster, achieving true unity between man and horse, commanding them as easily as their own arms.

As for the eighteen Mid-level Wizard Apprentices, some rode Magic Carpets like Eddie, some rode Monsters, and others rode Flying Brooms.

Among them, Caruso was the most eye-catching. He was riding a large Gargoyle. Every step it took caused the ground to tremble slightly.

Eddie on the Magic Carpet looked at Caruso enviously. Although that Gargoyle wasn’t made by Lord Ace, the unique logo on it showed it was an Advanced Gargoyle made by Advanced Wizard Apprentice Polina!

“This kind of Advanced Gargoyle is very difficult to manufacture. Except for Lord Ace, even Polina, the patent owner of the Gargoyle, is rumored to have successfully made only two. I didn’t expect one to be here.”

Eddie looked enviously a few more times and whispered complaints.

“Envious, right? I’m envious too. Caruso quietly tricked the wealthiest witch into his hands. To think I had a chance back then!”

A voice came from behind. Eddie looked back and saw a muscular man riding a low-level Monster, a Red Tiger, winking and speaking loudly to him.

Eddie felt extremely awkward. With this guy saying so much, could Caruso not hear it? Conflicts with teammates before the battle even started—if he had known, he wouldn’t have spoken carelessly.

Caruso, riding the Advanced Gargoyle, indeed turned his head. The arm on the Gargoyle’s chest extended, attacking directly at Lucilu. The muscular man Lucilu agilely jumped left and right, actually dodging the Gargoyle’s dozens of attacks completely.

“Amazing. In three seconds, the Gargoyle attacked at least fifty times!

This man named Lucilu is also formidable. Clearly a Mid-level Apprentice, he can actually use flexible movement to avoid the attacks of an Advanced Gargoyle. Although this attack didn’t have any enchantments, it was a solid fifty strikes in three seconds!”

Shock and envy surged in Eddie’s heart simultaneously. This man named Lucilu could not be underestimated.
