Chapter 253: Bio-Armor and Supernatural Transformation
Strange monsters could be split. After splitting, they became one soul with multiple bodies. A Strange monster at the level of a common Monster could be split into two parts, while one at the level of a powerful low-level Monster could be split into four.
However, the research stalled because Caruso couldn’t inscribe Rune structures at such a microscopic level; he simply didn’t have that ability.
Caruso murmured, “If only I were a Strange monster. It’s confirmed that they can adjust the Rune structures on their own cells—it seems to be their innate ability.
“For me, inscribing so many Rune structures onto myself at the cellular level is an impossible task! What should I do?”
He walked out of the laboratory somewhat depressed. Looking at his Advanced Gargoyle familiar, his eyes suddenly lit up.
As an Advanced Wizard Apprentice, he was qualified to access certain secret knowledge, such as the rather problematic Original Projection Ritual.
“Can I avoid creating a pure magic clone and instead combine the Familiar Ritual and Projection Ritual to create a monster clone? A clone whose soul is anchored by a fragment of my own soul, but whose body is that of a Strange monster?
“If this clone possesses the three identities of clone, familiar, and Strange monster simultaneously, could it realize my vision?”
Caruso didn’t have enough Academic Points, so he borrowed one hundred points from Polina to exchange for the knowledge of the original version of the Projection Ritual. He then combined it with the Familiar Ritual knowledge. After multiple modifications and attempts over roughly half a year, he finally created a unique creation.
This creation possessed the jelly-like, fluid body of a Strange monster. Its original soul had been erased by Caruso, replaced by a clone soul filled with a fragment of his own soul.
This was Caruso’s pioneering work. He used the Projection Ritual to create a bodiless clone spirit body, but a spirit body couldn’t directly replace the soul of a bodiless Strange monster—that was very difficult.
Caruso used the Familiar Ritual to achieve this goal. Through the Familiar Ritual, he established a mental connection with the Strange monster, creating a marvelous link between them. Then, he lured the Strange monster’s soul out of its body, severing the chains binding its soul and body.
After destroying its soul, because the Double Helix Structure inherent in the Familiar Contract connected him to the Strange monster’s body, Caruso used this connection to link his clone spirit body to the Rules Chains using the Double Helix Structure. Finally, he replaced the Strange monster’s soul, becoming the new soul of this body.
Such a creation possessed his clone spirit body and the jelly-like fluid body of a Strange monster, and it was also his familiar. His first objective was achieved.
The second step was to replace the microscopic Rune structures at the cellular level of this Strange monster. The clone consciousness replaced the microscopic Rune structures throughout the body according to Caruso’s design, completing the task in just one week.
This was the biological innate ability of the creature. If a Wizard wanted to imitate this ability, there was currently no way to do so.
The third step was to utilize this creature’s naturally fluid body and assimilation ability to merge it with his own body to achieve a symbiotic effect. This was an extremely risky attempt; even someone as adventurous as Caruso dared not risk his life directly.
He used Sealing Spells and Spatial Expansion Spells to create a sealed space in his left arm, filling it with the Strange monster clone.
A seal composed of Encryption Runes was inscribed on the creation. Once the seal was released, the fluid within could instantly spread over his entire body, resonating with Caruso’s body and transforming together into a certain Supernatural creature.
To achieve the goal of Perfect Transformation, this fluid had to devour and transform into a creature beforehand, thereby losing the power to devour other creatures and avoiding backlash.
He inscribed a Valve Seal and a Valve Opening Spell Model in his Soul Sanctuary . In critical moments, the valve could reverse the flow, sucking the fluid back into the sealed space.
Using the Transformation Rune, Devouring Rune, Reverse Assimilation Rune, Dissolution Rune, and Encryption Runes with specific ciphertexts, he composed a 0-Ring Spell Model called “Monster Transformation Spell.”
“This sealing spell shall be called the Bio-Armor Spell, and this creation shall be called the Transformation Raw Stone. The Supernatural Transformation Spell is the key; everyone can design different ciphertexts to open their own Transformation Raw Stone.”
After some attempts, Caruso discovered that this Transformation Raw Stone could still be split. It could be divided into exactly four parts, with each part corresponding to one Monster.
In other words, at the Advanced Wizard Apprentice stage, Caruso could perfectly transform into four different powerful low-level Monsters or equivalent Supernatural creatures, such as Pseudo-Heroes.
Time rewound to half a year ago. Ace had already obtained ten newly developed Magical Cuisines from Logan. Through experiments, Ace had confirmed that while different types of Magical Cuisine had various tastes, ingredients, and aromatic characteristics, the magical effects they produced were similar: they all replenished the body’s vitality.
From a purely rational perspective of utility, eating just one type of Magical Cuisine would suffice. However, intelligent beings were different. Just as few people in his past life ate only nutritional meals every day, people preferred delicious food that might not be nutritionally balanced.
Guessing from the habits of intelligent beings, Ace believed that since the Crystalline Being experienced food through taste, It must pursue the ultimate enjoyment of taste, ingredients, and aroma, rather than how much “nutrition” was provided. Therefore, he paid extreme attention to color, aroma, taste, and ingredients in the dishes.
Looking at the ten large bowls of shining, colorful cuisine, Ace placed the Life Source residue he obtained last time onto the Token Magic Array, activating the Equivalent Exchange Summoning Magic Array.
In the Sea of Illusion and Reality, the bored Crystalline Being crushed a Void Worm to death and let out a sigh.
After many attempts, It had confirmed that there was only one way to enter the Inner Plane, the inner side of the world: by degrading Its true body.
As for the projection method, It had already tried it. Although a projection could indeed enter the inner side of the world, such a projection could not interact with the exposed rules or domains within!
The Crystalline Being patted the Void Solute with Its short, thick limbs and whispered:
“Only the true body can interact with the exposed rules or domains. I must make up my mind: either degrade to enter the inner side of this world, or plunder energy and restart my inter-world travel.”
Just then, a Magic Array slowly emerged. Someone was calling It again.
The Crystalline Being gently patted the Magic Array with a short claw. Hum!
On the other side of the Planar crystal walls, Ace felt a wave of powerful majesty—the majesty brought by the immense gap in life existence.
“It’s you again. What do you want? You’d better give me plenty of delicious food. You might not find me next time!”
The Crystalline Being danced with joy as It spoke. If Its past followers had seen this, their jaws would have dropped in shock.
Meanwhile, the voice passed through the Planar crystal walls and turned into a majestic sound that struck directly at Ace’s soul.
“Insignificant insect, what is it that thou seekest? What sacrifice does thou bring?”
