Chapter 266: The Descendant of Secrets

“The efficiency of the Soul Sanctuary in absorbing and transforming is still too slow. The Bright Moon Mana (characteristic Mana) harvested from a single night of meditation will take at least half a month to digest completely at the current conversion speed.”

Ace observed the condition of the Soul Sanctuary for a while and whispered somewhat greedily.

“According to my estimation, after digesting this cloud of Bright Moon Mana mist, my Mental Power scale should increase by almost 0.5 unit!”

In reality, his meditation effectiveness already far exceeded that of ordinary people because he possessed the rare state of beholding the True Spirit.

Generally speaking, only Legendary Heroes with the potential of a Demigod could achieve the state of beholding the True Spirit.

He had achieved it at the Level 1 Life stage. If the mini crystalline giant dragon knew, It would probably remark, “A Demigod in the Making.”

Beholding the True Spirit greatly enhanced the effectiveness of his meditation. Even other genius Wizards like Betty, once promoted to 1-Ring Wizards, couldn’t achieve an increase of nearly 0.5 unit in a single meditation session like Ace. Gaining one-fifth or even one-tenth of that harvest would be considered a blessing.

Without comparison, there is no harm. The terrifying efficiency of Ace’s 1-Ring meditation couldn’t be fully highlighted yet. Wait until other Wizard Apprentices advanced to become 1-Ring Wizards; who knew how envious they would be of Ace’s meditation harvest and conversion speed.

Ace didn’t know what others’ meditation efficiency would be like; he just felt that taking half a month to digest the Bright Moon Power absorbed on a single waning moon day was too slow. After thinking carefully for a while, he said:

“The True Spirit is the Creator God who pioneered the Soul Sanctuary. It can coordinate perfectly with the Soul Sanctuary and control it freely. Perhaps it can improve the conversion efficiency to a certain extent.”

Ace quickly sat down, closed his eyes, and guided the True Spirit from the “mezzanine” to descend into the Soul Sanctuary. As Ace’s spirit merged with the True Spirit, the True Spirit giant slowly opened its eyes.

The True Spirit giant sat amidst the Bright Moon Mana mist, inhaling and exhaling. With its breathing, the conversion speed of the Soul Sanctuary nearly doubled.

Ace opened his eyes, and his spirit detached from the True Spirit giant. The accelerated conversion effect came to an abrupt halt. After experimenting for a week, he reached a conclusion.

“The True Spirit is indeed very effective, but it causes too much mental fatigue. After converting for a day, I must rest for at least eight hours. Moreover, I must concentrate fully, which means I have to find a safe place to devote myself wholeheartedly to the conversion.”

Ace left the Moon Worshiping Wolves pack. His research goal had been achieved, so there was no need to stay there.

Mental strength had a decisive impact on a Wizard’s combat power. The higher the mental strength (i.e., the scale value), the greater the spellcasting power and the more spells could be cast. Furthermore, only when both mental strength and physical strength reached a certain level could one potentially become a Level 2 Life.

About a month later, Ace’s mental strength reached a scale value of 15. The Bright Moon Mana caused a change in his vitality mana, dyeing it with the color of the moon.

With the bright moon high in the sky, Ace, shrouded in silver brilliance, waved his hand casually. A silver blade shot out from his hand, hitting a giant boulder and effortlessly slicing it in two.

“Ouch, that hurts! Misunderstanding, its amisunderstanding! I didn’t mean to pry. My Lord, please listen to my explanation.”

Suddenly, a human figure drilled out from the boulder, speaking immediately and startling Ace. The figure was very blurry, indistinguishable to the naked eye.

Subconsciously, Ace activated the Perception Spell. Perception Rune structures surfaced in his eyes, allowing him to see the newcomer clearly.

He was a young man with a slender build and a few pimples on his face, wearing a white robe with a purple ribbon. Black mist lingered around him.

This mist seemed to have a strong concealing effect. A trace of desire flashed through Ace’s eyes.

“Respected descendant of crown Artemis, unknown Lord Hero, I am a descendant of the God of Secrets, the Pseudo-Hero Tal Karimmans.”

The young man bowed somewhat flusteredly. It was evident he had received a good education in etiquette; even in his panic, his bow remained meticulous.

Ace didn’t answer. Squinting his eyes, he observed the other party carefully. Inside his Soul Sanctuary, the Astrological Prevision Spell activated, and his body was dyed with a layer of hazy starlight.

Listening to the other party’s words, under the judgment of the Astrological Prevision Spell, Ace revealed a mysterious smile.

Detecting hostility and lies, and seeing through concealment—it was perfect for this moment.

“Tal, was it? release your secret mist. I don’t like people hiding in dark places. Rest assured, you are safe.”

Accompanying Ace’s words, the other party seemed to relax. The mist gradually dissipated as he walked towards Ace step by step.

Just as Tal got within about three meters of Ace, a strange smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. His whole person moved like smoke, instantly reaching Ace’s side. The secret mist swirled, forming a blurry dagger in his hand, which stabbed towards Ace’s heart.

Ace seemed unable to react in time. Only the faint caw of a raven was heard as the dagger plunged into Ace’s heart with a squelch. As the other party twisted the blade, Ace’s heart turned into mush.

“Damn blasphemer, die!”

The young man’s body was like a painted skin, tearing down the middle. A blurry figure stepped out from within—a scythe on the back, bare feet, black outer garment, iron mask. A Punisher!

Just then, Ace’s corpse smiled mysteriously, turned into Bright Moon Mana, and exploded outwards with a bang.

A drop of cold sweat trickled down Tal’s forehead. Around him, there were only the caws of ravens and the disturbance of shadows. A waft of faint Dream Mist appeared.

“Damn it, it was a fake!”

Tal recited silently in his heart. Simultaneously, the secret mist dispersed, and his figure gradually disappeared.

Boom!

The ground suddenly became muddy, then scorching and explosive. Four-Element Ring derived area spell— Magma Lake.

“Hiss!”

A sound of sucking in hot air and suppressing extreme pain came. Fifteen giant magma hands reached out from the boiling magma, attacking the invisible figure with awe-inspiring heat.

Although Tal was confident in his secret mist, he had to dodge in this situation because these magma hands seemed to have eyes that could see him; almost every strike headed straight for him.

The Dream Mist seemed to evaporate in this environment. Tal had no time to think about the Dream Mist as he continued to dodge.

Suddenly, the wind rose around him. Violent winds carrying crushed stones and hundreds of wind blades sliced towards him. More and more wounds appeared on Tal’s body. Bang!

Five or six magma hands were led by Tal to crash into one spot.

Tal panted heavily, manipulating the secret mist to make a desperate leap. As a descendant of the God of Secrets, deception was almost a necessity. He was actually a newly advanced Hero, which was why he could dodge in mid-air for so long, but he had reached his limit.

Ace hovered above, pressing his finger down. Disturbed by the Dream Mist, Tal fell into a trance and failed to dodge the incoming scorching magma hand. He was slapped into the boiling magma, letting out a wail of agony.

Before dying, he finally found Ace. Staring at Ace in the air, a smile of unclear meaning appeared at the corner of his mouth.
