Chapter 363: Life Hunting and Banishment
The original Alex was filled with uncertainty and fear; he felt unable to break free from this powerful spatial pull.
However, the other Alex, possessed by the Demon Lord’s remnant soul, seemed on the verge of breaking the control of “Fixed-Time Stagnation.” His power erupted suddenly, instantly escalating from ordinary Legend rank to the peak of Legend.
Ace’s vitality was being consumed violently, and his lifespan was depleting. His jet-black hair gradually turned white. Ace had no way to estimate the consumption of his lifespan, but imprisoning two Legend-rank existences with a 4-Ring spell was truly beyond his limits; losing some life force was an acceptable price.
“Just a little more, just a little more!”
Ace clenched his teeth, striving to drive the Spell Model and stabilize the combo spell “Spatial Banishment.” Banishing them merely a 50 km away wasn’t safe enough; he needed to lock onto the Sea of Illusion and Reality and exile both Alex and the unknown Demon Lord’s remnant soul to the Outside of the World.
Inside Ace’s Mental Imagery World, the dream world began to collapse. The humans in the dream world prayed in fear, seeking the protection of the Supreme God Ai.
A meager amount of Human Racial Aura flowed into Ace’s True Spirit. The level of these dream humans was simply too low, and the effect produced was too small, offering extremely limited help to Ace.
Aleias clenched her snow-white teeth and took out an ancient arrow stained with dark red blood traces. Its substantive Mystery had reached Level 3. Having drunk the life of the Mud Giant Bear, it had recovered part of its authority.
“Lord Ace, please allow me to shoot the demon with the Life-Hunting Arrow. Even if it is a Legend, this arrow can inflict heavy injuries!”
The True Spirit Ace responded immediately, “Granted. You have no bow; I will manifest one for your use.”
A bow quite similar to the one Karim held in the second playthrough emerged from the void and fell into Aleias’s hands. The bow carried a dreamlike quality, appearing somewhat insubstantial.
Aleias didn’t wait. Following Ace’s guidance, she stood on the wasteland further away from the Lake of Mana.
Ace gritted his teeth and squeezed out a bit more Mana, manifesting the area around Aleias behind his own back.
Aleias held the Life-Hunting Arrow in her right hand. Holding the bow in her left and hooking the string with her right, she turned her head toward the two Alexes in the sky. Her eyes looked straight ahead as she raised both arms.
Her bronzed skin took on a reddish glow under the reflection of the Six-Element Ring behind Ace, revealing the fine texture of her skin and her healthy Apollo’s belt.
Her gaze was incredibly focused, her expression valiant. Her eye, the bow, the arrow, and the enemy formed a straight line.
Her head, neck, spine, waist, and smooth, powerful legs formed a line. Her entire being resembled a large bow, full of wildness and martial beauty. As her aura rose, the Mana in the surrounding environment surged, and the feeling of a hunter locking onto prey began to spread.
The Alex controlled by Ace and the Demon Lord’s remnant soul felt their hackles rise. The Demon Lord’s mouth opened slowly, and His hands struggled to move, causing the entire “Fixed-Time Stagnation” halo to fluctuate violently.
Ace was about to reach his limit. He struggled to maintain the spell. His once raven-black hair had turned silver-white. Finally, Aleias raised her momentum to the peak. The Life-Hunting Arrow transformed into a red-and-black meteor, shooting straight at the two demons.
Aleias used up all her strength and sat heavily on the ground, gasping for breath. Beads of sweat dripped down continuously. The longbow in her hand shattered into dream fragments with a bang.
She was still persisting, trying hard to lift her head. Boom!
The red-and-black meteor, carrying grim slaughter and fatality, pierced through the chest of the Alex possessed by the Demon Lord’s remnant soul in the sky, corroding a massive hole in His chest.
The Life-Hunting Arrow lost its momentum and couldn’t attack the other Alex. Aleias reached out forcefully, recalling the Life-Hunting Arrow, which had returned to its ancient appearance.
The dream fragments around her shattered, pulling her back into Ace’s Mental Imagery World.
After the Life-Hunting Arrow heavily injured the Alex possessed by the Demon Lord, the pressure on Ace lightened abruptly. He seized the opportunity to embed the 3-Ring Spell “Unstable Subspace” into the “Fixed-Time Stagnation” halo.
At the same time, he operated at full capacity, constantly locating spatial coordinates. Finally, he roughly determined a location: far away from Kaya Mountain. There were a large number of Divine Sub-planes and Demigod Demi-planes surrounding the sacred mountain; it should be a good place.
Since it was a non-directional teleportation, the range would be estimated to be somewhat large, but at least they would be banished to the Outside of the World!
Thinking this, Ace activated the combo spell. Accompanied by violent spatial fluctuations and the breaking of spatial barriers, the entire “Fixed-Time Stagnation” halo was exiled and torn apart in one piece.
The Demon Lord looked back one last time, seemingly wanting to memorize the guy who banished Him just as He was released from the seal. As the spatial barrier shattered, both Alex and the Demon Lord vanished.
The sky was quiet. Mt. Baal was incredibly silent after the great battle. Only birds flew by occasionally, making the place seem even more desolate.
The ominous aura and hair-raising terror had dissipated, and the invisible whispers did not appear. Ace, now with a head of white hair, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He released everyone from his Mental Imagery World, then his vision went black and he collapsed to the ground.
Aleias caught Ace and hoisted him onto her back. With a satisfied expression, she said, “Lord Ace must be overtired. We should take him somewhere to rest”.
Xavier and the other Knight Squires looked at Arno and Aleias. Xavier plucked up the courage to ask, “The battle should be over, right? Are we returning to the High Tower?”
Arno kept his power tightly wrapped. His dark red eyes were soul-capturing. He hefted the ice coffins of Ancestar and Ollie onto his shoulders and said in a low voice, “Return to the High Tower first. Lord Ace needs to recuperate, and we also need to notify the High Tower that the crisis is resolved”.
With that, Arno leaped carrying the two ice coffins, running toward the High Tower.
Aleias followed closely carrying Ace, running in the direction of the High Tower.
Xavier and the others hesitated no longer, urging their Winged Gale Horses to gallop toward the High Tower.
In the High Tower Territory, Daina was nervously directing the Advanced Wizard Apprentices to set traps. The entire High Tower had turned into a city of magic traps.
Thousands of Gargoyle statues were activated. Various trigger-type curses and delayed curses were densely packed. All Mana Stones were used to power elemental traps. Mortals clutched muskets, trying to find a bit of comfort.
The port area was crowded with people. The Wizard Apprentices arranged to be Tinder were already waiting there, boarding ships in an orderly manner under the armed direction of Betty and others.
Just then, someone from the south broke into the warning barrier!
As the alarm sounded, various magic spells were blasted at Arno’s face, leaving him almost bewildered. He subconsciously activated his Heart Force. Thick Hatred, bone-piercing resentment, and eerie ominousness began to spread.
The people of the High Tower became even more convinced that the arrival was absolutely an Abyssal Demon; only an Abyssal Demon could possess such a terrifying form of power.
Daina rushed over quickly and activated all the magic traps. For a moment, Arno fell into truly dire straits.
