Chapter 408: Tidecaller Harbor

Ruelsi had already been stunned by Ace and placed near the door of his home. O’Neal Byrne still didn’t know danger was approaching. His mood was cheerful, and his steps were light. As a descendant of a branch family with an unknown distance from the main lineage, four generations of his ancestors were incompetent.

But O’Neal was different. Just the day before yesterday, thanks to the grace of the Legendary Hero Alsop Byrne, he successfully activated his bloodline and became a divine awakened.

Breaking through the mortal limit of physical fitness made him extremely happy, and the hypnotic ability from his bloodline made him incredibly excited. His eyes twinkled with longing for the future; he yearned to revitalize this branch family and carve out a career.

Unknowingly, a pair of dazzling eyes appeared before O’Neal. He rubbed his eyes, but they remained in front of him. O’Neal couldn’t resist; he was involuntarily attracted by those eyes, and his steps became heavier and heavier.

“What is this thing? My head is so dizzy… Could it be?”

O’Neal came to a slight realization. He tried to activate his bloodline to resist this drowsiness. The eyes suddenly brightened intensely, and he fell onto a mound of earth with a thud.

It was already night. There were fewer and fewer people in the city, and no one noticed O’Neal being swallowed by his shadow.

A moment later, “O’Neal” stood up from the shadow. Swaying like a drunkard, he returned to his residence.

This “O’Neal” was naturally Ace. The real O’Neal had already been taken into Ace’s mental imagery dream world, sleeping in a dream, unknowingly revealing everything he knew.

O’Neal lived on the east side of the noble district in the inner city, in a dilapidated villa.

This place had once been prosperous a hundred years ago. The complex decorations on the walls and the mottled murals were silently telling that this was a villa with a story.

“O’Neal” returned home and lay down directly. Inside the mental imagery world, Ace was examining the real O’Neal’s dream, gradually understanding the basic situation.

“The Legendary Hero of Byrne is named Alsop. He is the third son of the Sleep God. There seems to be an invasion of Disaster-grade monsters in the north of Artemis, and he went with other Legendary Heroes to purify the monsters. The first two of the Byrne’s three sons have already become Demigods; only the youngest son is still a Legendary Hero.

“The three sons of the Sleep God are also known as the Dream Trinity. People believe it is highly possible that the three of them will achieve the status of Dream God together!”

True Spirit Ace frowned tightly. If the Sleep God’s domain covered his path, then the Dream Trinity was directly competing for his path. Although the Dream Trinity did not involve the domain of manifesting dreams into reality, just the core domain of dreams alone was a core Ace absolutely could not allow to be overturned by others.

“This is difficult. I am only a Golden Wizard now, far behind them. Once the three of them achieve Dream God status, I will inevitably be suppressed under their path. Either I modify my path, or I fight to the death. The three of them respectively govern ‘Dreams of Beast Form,’ ‘Dreams of Object Form,’ and ‘Dreams of Human Form.’ Currently, only Alsop, the divine son governing ‘Dreams of Human Form,’ has not yet become a Demigod. My time is probably running out.”

Ace felt anxious for the first time. He had a premonition that once the Dream Trinity achieved the Dream Domain, his future would be uncertain.

“The urgent task is to understand the situation here clearly, then return to Salia immediately, arrange matters in Salia properly, and look for an opportunity to advance to Legend.”

Ace hesitated no longer. The next day, using the identity of “O’Neal,” he entered the Byrne Noble Library and read the secret knowledge there in detail, gaining a deeper understanding of the Sleep God’s descendants. As his uneasiness strengthened, Ace stopped hesitating. After erasing O’Neal’s memory of these few days, he left the place and headed straight for Tidecaller Harbor in the east.

Just two hours after Ace left, Alsop returned. Alsop was a slender, refined male with an air of scholarly elegance, looking very sunny.

As soon as he arrived in Byrne City, he keenly noticed the difference. The dream power from his bloodline made him sense the aura of a similar kind.

“It seems a dream creature at the level of an advanced monster has been here. This is quite rare. I have to look for it. If I can catch it, I can fill it into Big Brother Mund’s dream!”

Alsop looked excited. He hadn’t seen a wild dream creature for two hundred years. Mund governed ‘Dreams of Beast Form’ and wandered in the Sea of Reality and Illusion on the Outer World almost all the time, releasing some dream creatures while capturing a large number of new varieties.

Alsop originally liked living in the Outer World too, but his path was ‘Dreams of Human Form’; he had to live among the crowd for his path to advance.

He searched for a long time but didn’t find the trace of that unique dream creature. Finally, he could only return to his residence with a sense of loss.

Ace had used Blink continuously and arrived near Tidecaller Harbor. If he had left any later, he might have really been captured by Alsop.

Tidecaller Harbor was the easternmost seaport of the Artemis Kingdom. Legend has it that the great Lady of Night, the Moon Lady Artemis, once summoned waves here to cleanse the entire Artemis region, exterminating mortals who blasphemed the gods.

This was a beautiful seaport city. The fishy sea breeze blew on Ace, reminding him of Tsmali Port. It had the same sea breeze, and hot coastal girls.

Ace stopped. His figure and clothing had changed to look like a local. Using dream manifestation to create a fake pottery shard, he successfully blended into Tidecaller Harbor.

Sailors were shouting chants, fishermen were pulling nets of fresh sea fish, merchants were pulling carts of goods, and cries of peddling were everywhere in the streets and alleys. The entire city was filled with the smell of fish and a faint saltiness.

The only regret was that the girls here didn’t dress quite as hotly.

Ace wasn’t in a hurry to leave. In fact, if he really wanted to leave, he could completely use the Flight spell to fly over the Sea of Mist. But Ace still wanted to take a look here and sow some fire seeds along the way, so he chose to stay.

Unlike the casual scattering like a meteor shower last time, Ace’s method of sowing this time was directional. He selected adolescent citizens in the middle layer of society as his sowing targets. These people were mostly the elite among mortals, possessing a certain level of learning and relatively broad horizons. More importantly, they could eat meat.

The beginning of the Warrior’s path lay in blood food. It was very difficult for freemen or even slaves, who often went hungry, to reach the mortal limit and activate blood qi.

The elderly also lacked potential. Having gone downhill physically, it was hard for them to reach their physical peak. The best candidates were adolescent citizens. Being in the stage of physical development, they were most suitable for walking the path of the Warrior, highly likely to reach the limit of their physical state around the age of twenty.

Ace searched in Tidecaller Harbor for a day but only sowed just over twenty blood qi gems. Youth, citizen family, learned, strong physique—after applying these four conditions, even in Tidecaller Harbor with a population of fifty thousand, very few remained.
