Chapter 407: Entry

Luna was unaware of this at first. It wasn’t until a former playmate threw stones at her that Luna completely left the vicinity of the village and disappeared without a trace.

After releasing the blood qi gem meteor shower, Ace slowly descended. Having stabilized the Golden Element Ring, he possessed even stronger power. He now had the strongest material killing move, the Elemental Annihilation Sphere—a highly concentrated elemental sphere emitting colorful light, possessing an extremely stable shell and an extremely unstable core.

Although he hadn’t used it yet, Ace observed its internal reactions with the Eye of Truth and believed that the Elemental Annihilation Sphere could easily kill a Golden Hero and destroy everything within a range of a 6 km. Even Ace himself was not confident he could withstand this terrifying Elemental Annihilation, a fearsome spell capable of separating everything into the most basic elements.

Ace very much wanted to explore Byrne City, but deterred by the power of the Legendary Hero, he feared that once discovered, he would become a pariah in the Artemis Kingdom. Therefore, he hesitated and watched, unwilling to act lightly.

“I’ll wait at most two more days. If there’s no turn for the better, I’ll leave here and continue traveling in Artemis, heading to the easternmost city of Parthia, and return to Salia from there. Arno and the others probably can’t find me and must be extremely anxious. Ancestar is also waiting for me to hold the transformation ceremony; I can’t delay too long.”

Inside the mental imagery dream world, True Spirit Ace manipulated the sky full of stars, divining the future. The results of the astrological divination were mottled and unclear, only telling him one word: “Wait.”

Ace did not intend to follow the divination mechanically. He still had many things unfinished and didn’t have enough leisure to wait quietly. Since he intended to raise the prelude to revolution, Ace planned to gain a more practical understanding of the Old Continent. And those future Warriors were also his probe into the Old Continent.

True Spirit Ace pondered and said slowly:

“After returning to the High Tower, I still need to send specialized personnel to be responsible for the dissemination and guidance of Warriors. Warriors will charge at the front, while High Tower Wizards stay behind the scenes. At the critical moment, we will overturn the old order together! The path of the Warrior, capable of reaching the state of Level 2 Life, is a path sufficient to contend with Divine Descendants.”

…

While Ace was waiting, back in the High Tower Territory, Betty, Daina, Arno, and others had become somewhat anxious and uneasy.

The three of them sat in the living room of the West Tower, their faces full of worry.

Daina said with some concern, “Lord Ace has disappeared for nearly two months without any news. Could he have encountered some danger?”

Betty comforted her with some anxiety:

“Probably not. There is almost no one in the Salia region who can threaten Lord Ace, unless he has left Salia. I have already discussed the details of cooperation with the Fire Stealer Alliance with Amid. Amid and the others have also concluded contracts with Lord Ace through fixed-format grimore, but…”

She didn’t continue. The fewer people who knew some details, the better.

Arno remained silent inside his silver armor. He yearned to see Ancestar, but this kind of thing couldn’t be rushed. After a long while, he stood up and said, “I’ll go upstairs to see Ancestar and Ollie. For now, we can only wait patiently. The news of Lord Ace’s disappearance must not be spread to avoid unnecessary trouble.”

Betty and Daina exchanged glances, both reading the anxiety and unease in each other.

…

Time passed quickly. In just one day, that pale golden figure inside Byrne City suddenly shot into the sky, turning into a meteor and heading north.

Ace stared at the departing figure. Looking at the dream mist of Byrne City, he narrowed his eyes slightly. Taking a step, he flashed 2 km away. After a few flashes, he arrived beneath the walls of Byrne City.

This city of mist, this city of sleep, no longer gave off that heart-palpitating feeling from before. The existence that could threaten Ace’s safety had left.

Ace activated the Eye of Truth. With layers of dazzling runes in his eyes, he observed the city seriously. Dawn was breaking, and the dream mist was gradually receding as people began to wake up; the authority of sleep was also waning.

But the mist hadn’t disappeared completely; it still shrouded the city. Ace realized this was mist with warning and marking effects.

He activated the Invisible Concealment spell. His entire person turned into a shadow, slipping into the shadow of a passerby driving a cart full of vegetables into the city.

The cowlick on his head swayed slightly as his shielding ability activated simultaneously.

The farmer driving the cart felt nothing. He was about forty years old, with dark skin and wrinkles left by time on his face. At the south gate of Byrne City, the farmer nimbly stopped the cart and jumped down, bowing continuously to the four guards. He took a few bundles of lettuce from the cart and stuffed them into the guards’ hands.

“Guard Lords, I am from Baird Town. I want to enter the city to deliver vegetables to the villa of Lord Daisy, the Favored One. Lord Daisy is also from Baird and loves the vegetables from our place the most.”

The guards looked at each other and weighed the lettuce in their hands. One of them said, “Alright, show me your pottery shard. After entering the city, hurry up and deliver the goods. Don’t keep Lord Daisy waiting.”

The farmer hurriedly handed the identity pottery shard issued by the town office to the guard. The guard looked at it carefully, confirmed there were no issues, and let the farmer hurry into the city.

No one noticed Ace hiding in the shadow. He entered this city of sleep silently.

When the farmer drove the horse carriage past the shadow of a tall clock tower, Ace separated from him and quietly entered the shadow of another passerby.

The passerby’s body stiffened, and he involuntarily walked to a hidden corner of the street. Ace emerged from his shadow, turning into human form. His mental imagery world opened, pulling the passerby into it, while he himself transformed into the passerby’s appearance.

In the mental imagery dream world, Ace quickly learned all the intelligence about the other party. He smoothed his hair and said softly, “From now on, I am the grocery store helper Ruelsi.”

Carrying things, he went to a grocery store in the east of the city as usual and asked the boss for leave. Ace intended to get a good understanding of this city.

This city wasn’t big, definitely not as prosperous as Nightlight City in the High Tower Territory, and not even comparable to the Royal City of Medimus City-State. The entire city had an air of comfort and conservatism. The people here were not wealthy and seemed to lack ambition and pioneering spirit.

“Perhaps this is the ruling style of the descendants of the Sleep God. If I want to understand this city deeply, my current status is too low; I can only understand the surface.”

In less than a day, Ace had walked through the entire Byrne City. He set his sights on a new identity: a young noble. After Ace’s multiple inquiries, this noble was named O’Neal Byrne, a distant branch relative of the City Lord. This branch had only him left.

“Young divine awakened, hand your identity over to me.”
