Chapter 415: Experiment

Ace manipulated the Star Magic Stones, carefully embedding them into the Undead Knight Transformation Magic Circle. Each Star Magic Stone served as a node, providing abundant mana for the magic circle.

“It will take Arno at least a few days to return. I’ll take this opportunity to meditate and recover mana, manufacturing as many Level 2 Star Magic Stones as possible.”

The starry sky of the mental imagery world gradually covered the area above the Magic Castle. This phenomenon attracted the attention of numerous wizard apprentices. They scrambled to get close to the Magic Castle. Ace’s meditation caused a high concentration of mana, which was a free mana feast for the apprentices.

Eddie flew over, almost racing on his magic carpet, and grabbed a fairly decent spot to close his eyes and meditate. Ace’s Starry Sky Meditation Method practically communicated with the stars in the sky. For these advanced wizard apprentices who also communicated with the stars, using Ace’s dream starry sky made communication much more convenient and easier, and their mental power improved faster.

More and more people gathered. Even Betty dragged old Bayen to the vicinity. Staring at the phenomenon of the sun and moon shining together in the starry sky, she said to Bayen, “Lord Bayen, you have lived in Lord Ace’s mental imagery dream world, so you should know the significance of this starry sky. It is simply incredible power. We are already official wizards, yet we can still use Lord Ace’s meditation phenomenon to communicate with celestial bodies and accelerate our own meditation.”

Bayen said thoughtfully, “I feel that Lord Ace’s mental imagery world seems to have a mysterious connection with the external world. It is like a degraded manifestation of the external world, or perhaps the best simulation of the world at the Golden Wizard stage. His starry sky is even more so; every star corresponds to a celestial body in reality, like a degraded projection of the celestial bodies.”

Betty’s father, the former magistrate Leon, also said leisurely, “Perhaps this is the mystery of a wizard advancing to Level 2. We may not be able to comprehensively degrade reality like Lord Ace, but we need to degrade the reality related to our path into a mental imagery world. The key to the so-called mental imagery world might be the sublimation of the Soul Sanctuary as a whole.”

Three days later, Arno slowly flew back to the High Tower. His substantive hatred and mental power turned into three giant claws, firmly gripping three unconscious high-level monsters.

Ace, floating in mid-air meditating, ended his meditation. Inside the mental imagery dream world, over three hundred brilliant Star Magic Stones paved the grassy bank by the Lake of Mana, and the Lake of Mana was overflowing. Ace was in peak condition.

Sensing Arno’s return, he opened his eyes and nodded to Arno. The two returned to the West Tower laboratory with the three high-level monsters.

The three high-level monsters Arno captured were not huge, only four or five meters tall, making them perfectly feasible to place on the magic circle.

Ace had Arno imprison the other two monsters and placed a boar-like monster into the Undead Knight Transformation Magic Circle. Ace’s mental power slowly poured into the magical patterns of the magic circle, and the mana from the Star Magic Stones at various nodes was slowly released.

The Negative Energy Magic Circle was lit up. Mana pulsed strangely, immersing the entire magic circle in a negative energy environment. The boar-like monster imprisoned in the negative energy environment struggled violently. Ace’s right eye changed from the colorful Eye of Truth to the pitch-black Eye of Fear, instantly stunning the monster.

But this monster was a Level 2 Life after all. Even in a negative energy environment constructed by golden runes, it could resist erosion for a long time. Ace couldn’t wait that long. His right hand slowly rose, and the Golden Element Ring appeared out of thin air above his head. Pitch-black death elements spread, and a black “light” erupted from it.

The black “light” shrouded the monster, and the power of the death curse echoed. In less than three minutes, the monster lost its life.

Its corpse remained in the Negative Energy Magic Circle, and its soul emerged from the body. Ace immediately activated the Soul Fire Transformation Magic Circle and the True Spirit Imprisonment Magic Circle. Under the strange mana fluctuations, the soul was pulled into the Soul Fire Transformation Magic Circle, while the True Spirit was imprisoned.

Just then, the power of the True Spirit Imprisonment Magic Circle seemed a bit too strong; it actually tore the monster’s True Spirit apart by force.

Both Ace and Arno looked grim. If this had been Ancestar, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

The transformation ritual failed. Ace sealed and imprisoned the remaining two high-level monsters, then began to check and adjust the Undead Knight Transformation Magic Circle. He widened the threshold for True Spirit imprisonment, reduced the binding force, and then conducted the experiment again.

This time, the True Spirit imprisonment was successful, but the final step of undead transformation had a problem. The monster’s power core was not preserved. The transformed special True Spirit lost its vessel, and the monster also lost the source for power advancement.

Ace modified the Undead Magic Circle again, adding a Preservation spell to ensure the survival of the power core (heart).

In the third experiment, the transformation was finally successful. This undead monster retained its memories from life and possessed its previous abilities.

Ace contracted it through the Magic Net core “Fantasia,” using the mental imprints of the wizards within “Fantasia,” making the undead high-level monster a combat force for the High Tower Territory. He then sent it to the Reflection World and constructed a summoning magic circle near “Fantasia.” As long as members of the Review Committee carried a Dream Key, they could summon it to fight.

Ace made some fine-tuning to the magic circle, preparing to experiment on Ancestar. Just then, Arno returned, bringing back two more high-level monsters.

It turned out he was worried Ace didn’t have enough experimental subjects, so he specifically went to capture two more high-level monsters. Ace didn’t stand on ceremony and used these two high-level monsters for experiments again, successfully converting both into Level 2 Undead.

Following the method used for the first one, he also contracted them using “Fantasia.” Just like that, the High Tower Territory possessed three driveable Level 2 Undead monsters.

Ace thought for a while and said to Arno, who had been waiting for a long time:

“Arno, go notify Betty and the other official wizards to wait on the first floor. You also wait for me on the first floor. I need to communicate with Ancestar one more time to confirm his intentions. If he hasn’t changed his mind, I will convert him into an Undead Knight!”

Arno looked at Ace, then at the shriveled Ancestar in the ice coffin, nodded, turned around, and left.

Dense dream mist gradually spread. Ace pulled Ancestar’s consciousness into the dream world. By the Lake of Mana, the two met under the starry sky where the sun and moon shone together.

Here, Ancestar was slender and robust, with golden hair and a melancholic yet handsome expression—it was him at his best.

Wearing a pitch-black magic robe, Ace waited by the Lake of Mana. Ancestar slowly approached, kneeled on one knee before Ace, and performed a standard knight’s salute.

“Lord Ace, is the ritual about to begin?”
