Chapter 416: Burning Holy Bone

Ace nodded and said with slight hesitation, “Logically speaking, I don’t need to ask you again. But I can sense that you don’t want to be transformed into an Undead Knight; you yearn for rest. That’s why I want to confirm your intentions again, and I will respect your wishes.”

Ancestar smiled melancholically. Under the scene where the sun and moon shone together, Ancestar was so handsome that even Ace couldn’t help but admire him.

“I also thought about resting in peace, but there are too many regrets remaining in the world. Arno needs someone to guide him, and Donna should not have sacrificed herself in vain. I want to take good care of her father, and I want to fulfill the oaths of virtue. So even if I become a monster, I will not hesitate!”

Looking at Ancestar’s melancholic yet determined eyes, which unknowingly overlapped with Arno’s resolved gaze, Ace murmured, “I understand. Perhaps this is the difference between you and me. That’s why I can only be a wizard, while you are knights. Regardless of walking in light or darkness, a knight’s heart beats forever.”

Hearing Ace’s murmur, Ancestar said loudly with a serious expression:

“Lord Ace, it is precisely because you are different from us, precisely because of your extreme thirst for truth, that you gathered a group of people like us. Your wizard spirit and the sentence you proposed, ‘Man is the measure of all things,’ is a beacon in my heart. Please persist in being yourself, and please go further on the path of magic. I believe that one day, your torch will turn into the sun. The long night will eventually pass, the rising sun will ascend, and all things will recover!”

Ace looked at Ancestar. A feeling of being trusted sprouted in his heart. All along, he felt he was carrying everyone forward on his back. Until this moment, Ace suddenly felt that perhaps he could try to entrust others, try to rely on others.

Ace nodded solemnly and said, “We, the High Tower Wizards, will definitely go further on the path of magic and get closer and closer to the reality of this world.”

As his voice fell, Ancestar felt dizzy, and his consciousness returned to his body, hovering between life and death.

Ace quietly adjusted his state in the mental imagery world. Opening his eyes, the Eye of Truth was already activated, and his overall mental state had been adjusted to the best condition.

He stood up, bowed solemnly to Ancestar’s ice coffin, and then released the ice coffin. The ultimate evil began to surge; someone seemed to be cursing, someone seemed to be shouting loudly. Ace remained unmoved. He methodically activated the Negative Energy Magic Circle, fixing Ancestar’s body within it.

The Golden Element Ring emerged. Sunlight and vitality seemed to be surging within it. A pure white, dazzling light bloomed from it, enveloping Ancestar. Ancestar’s heart, created by Donna’s sacrifice, was still beating faintly. The injection of vitality slowly restored the heartbeat.

But Ancestar’s soul had already irreversibly decayed. If no one stopped it, his soul would vanish in a few minutes.

Ace controlled the vitality power, drawing Ancestar’s heart out of his decaying body bit by bit and fixing it in the Undead Magic Circle. The Golden Element Ring continued to emit the light of vitality, maintaining the heartbeat and vigor.

Meanwhile, the Glazed Heart Fire from Ace’s mental imagery dream world appeared in reality, slowly approaching Ancestar’s body. Ancestar’s soul had begun to decay and transform. The True Spirit was pulled and imprisoned by the True Spirit Imprisonment Magic Circle, while the soul began to transform into soul fire in the magic circle on the other side, burning the power of ultimate evil along with it.

Ace controlled his Glazed Heart Fire, activating less than five percent of its power, slowly burning the aura of ultimate evil on Ancestar’s body. Ancestar could be transformed into an Undead Knight, but he absolutely could not be affected by the aura of ultimate evil. He was a Knight of Virtue, a Knight of Holy Light. Even if he became an Undead Knight, he would be an undying Holy Light Knight!

To the Glazed Heart Fire, the aura of ultimate evil was excellent fuel, just like fierce fire meeting tar, burning easily. Ace carefully burned the aura of ultimate evil. After about an hour, he finally burned away the aura of ultimate evil from Ancestar’s corpse completely.

Ancestar’s soul also completed the soul fire transformation. The flickering, dim and bright soul fire seemed to be recounting something.

Ace controlled the True Spirit Imprisonment Magic Circle, placing Ancestar’s True Spirit over the soul fire to burn. An unforeseen change occurred. The moment the soul fire burned the True Spirit, an unrivaled Holy Light of Virtue suddenly erupted. It was pure white holy light, the complete holy light possessing the power of eight virtues!

The holy light erupted from the True Spirit and quickly poured back into the soul fire, actually dyeing the greyish-white soul fire gradually bright white. The soul fire flickered, surprisingly emitting the light of virtue.

Ace looked at all this in shock. Sacred music seemed to be playing in the sky. Those horsemen who had once appeared surfaced one after another. The Holy Light of Virtue hidden in the Outer World  actually appeared at this moment, injecting the power of bright white holy light into the soul fire and True Spirit.

This process lasted for a long time. Almost everyone in Nightlight City saw that bright white holy light. Arno, waiting in the first-floor living room, was streaming with tears. Wisps of black smoke rose from his body. The Creed of Hatred and the Holy Light of Virtue were naturally at odds; heresy was more hostile than paganism.

When the phenomenon of the holy light ended, what remained was a unique bright white soul fire and a pure white True Spirit. Ace couldn’t judge whether such a soul fire and True Spirit could still be undead. Somewhat mechanically following the steps, he slowly placed the soul fire into the skull of Ancestar’s remains, while simultaneously placing Ancestar’s True Spirit into the still-beating heart.

The moment the soul fire entered the skull, and the moment the True Spirit was settled in the heart, pure white holy light shrouded the entire laboratory again. Ace seemed to see countless pure white spirits cheering, shadows roaring, and demons cursing.

He seemed to hear a group of people shouting loudly. At the same time, black tears flowed uncontrollably down Arno’s face. He murmured along with those shouting voices.

“Humility, Honesty, Compassion, Courage, Justice, Sacrifice, Honor, Loyalty!

“I swear to treat the weak with kindness,

“I swear to bravely oppose violence,

“I swear to fight against all wrongs,

“I swear to fight for the defenseless,

“I swear to help anyone who asks me for help,

“I swear not to harm any woman,

“I swear to help my brother-in-arms,

“I swear to treat my friends sincerely,

“I swear to be faithful to my love until death.”

Arno hugged his armor. Pitch-black hatred, dense to the extreme, enveloped him. His tears stopped, and he said softly, “I will face the abyss. I will become the abyss. I will use the abyss to crush the abyss.”

On the second floor of the West Tower, the holy light completely destroyed the magic circle. Ace saw a burning figure stand up. It was the flame of holy light, the leaping fire of virtue, erupting from the skeletal remains.

The burning skeleton stood up slowly. The leaping heart of sacrifice was also dyed with white light, slowly flying into the upper left side of the skeleton’s ribcage.
