Chapter 463: Discussion
The Demi-god Thoth looked around. He felt the vigorous, fearless, and confident state of the wizards, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of His mouth.
Some conservative Deities feared mortals approaching them, especially approaching them in terms of life level. But Thoth was not afraid. He even wanted to integrate into them. He tried to truly understand magic, understand wizards, and become a wizard!
Since wizards could potentially become Deities in the future, why couldn’t a Deity become a wizard now?
Ace’s face, however, carried a trace of uneasiness. The wizards were too confident. This was not a good phenomenon. Ace kept a straight face and pressed his hands down in the air; the scene immediately returned to silence.
“We must harbor fear. Fear of what?
“Fear of the unknown. Only then can we go further. We have only recognized a tiny part of the face of truth; we have only picked up a single pearl from the ocean of truth. If you treat this single pearl as the whole, we will miss all the remaining pearls.
“Although Magical Mechanics can explain many phenomena at this stage, as research continues, I have more and more doubts. The unknown makes people awe-struck; the unknown makes people intoxicated. Let us ask a few more whys.
“What exactly is gravity? What principles lie behind it? Do other forces exist? What are they?”
Ace’s string of whys made the wizards present shrug their shoulders, whispering things like “He’s starting again” to each other.
Sulu gave Warren a shove and said, “I think you are just a little Ace. Like Lord Ace, you have countless whys.”
Warren smiled slightly at Sulu: “That is my honor.”
Ace’s voice continued to echo in the ears of the wizards: “The foundation of Magical Mechanics lies in Calculus. Mathematics is our tool for understanding the world.
“Here, I need to continue to emphasize that we only see a small part of the reality of the world. Magical Mechanics has limits to its scope of application. In fact, the truths we discover all have scopes; they are relative truths. Whether absolute truth exists is unknown…”
Time passed slowly. It was already noon, and Ace’s mechanics speech was gradually coming to an end.
A white cloud drifted by, and the square dimmed slightly. Suddenly, a gap was revealed in the middle of the cloud layer. Clear and pure sunlight sprinkled down through the clouds, casting a brilliant golden beam that enveloped Ace.
Under that brilliant golden beam of sunlight, Ace said loudly:
“I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”
The entire square was silent. Then, applause rang out like thunder. People savored Ace’s final words, admiring his humility and sincerity even more in their hearts.
Demi-god Thoth felt something. He felt that Ace’s speech seemed to hide some kind of omen, but He hadn’t discovered exactly what it was yet.
“Sure enough, I need to study magic more systematically and solidly. Time is still long. Maybe I will become the first Demi-god Wizard, hahaha…”
Thoth’s figure flashed and disappeared. He appeared in the Temple, his laughter echoing within it.
Ace’s mechanics speech ended, and the crowd gradually dispersed. Wizards of advanced wizard apprentice level and above went straight to the Magic Castle Hall. There was another academic discussion here. Because it concerned the combat power of wizards, only those at the advanced apprentice level or higher could participate.
The wizard apprentices opened the gate of the Magic Castle and filed in, only to find that the scenery was vastly different from the past. They seemed to have stepped into an alien dimension—a sky full of stars, solid earth, and a brilliant lake.
While everyone was in shock and doubt, Ace’s voice rang out.
“Welcome to my world—the Dream Starry Universe.”
Ace’s figure was so huge that he could hold stars in his hand and stand in the vacuum. Some wizards began to realize: this was Ace’s mental imagery world!
“Is this Lord Ace’s mental imagery world?”
“It’s surprisingly so vast! It simply replicates the Inner World of Kaya!”
“There must be differences from the Inner World of Kaya, but even so, it is too great. I simply can’t believe it!”
“Can a Legendary Wizard actually possess such magnificent power? Possessing a world!”
Discussions rose one after another. Even Bayen, who had been to Ace’s mental imagery world before, felt shocked. The last time he came, the mental imagery world had a round sky and square earth; the starry sky was like an inverted bowl, and the earth was flat like a table.
But now, they were actually standing on the Dream Earth Center. This Earth Center was so vast that they could hardly discover it was a sphere.
Ace’s figure rapidly shrank to normal size and descended. The earth rose automatically, forming a pure white marble platform.
“Inviting everyone to my mental imagery world today is to let everyone witness the broad prospects of the magic path and discuss the new problems we are currently facing.
“After the theoretical innovation, we wizards can better coordinate with the world. In the next few years, there will inevitably be a large number of advanced apprentices advancing to Official Wizards, and there will definitely be more than just these few Level 2 Wizards.
“Our future will become broader and broader. Legend is not our end point, but a new starting point.
“As long as you work hard, in the future, you will possess a starry sky broader than my mental imagery world, or a unique cognitive reflection even more magnificent.”
Ace’s encouragement made the hearts of the wizards present surge. They looked at this starry universe with hopeful eyes, longing to reach such a height one day.
This was also one of Ace’s purposes. People often set limits for themselves, but when they see others breaking through limits, they subconsciously think they can do it too, thereby breaking through their self-imposed limits.
“We are here today to conduct a discussion on calculation power.
“This is a new problem that has gradually plagued everyone after the theoretical innovation, especially after the birth of Magical Mechanics.”
Hearing this, the wizards couldn’t help but nod. They indeed found that adjusting spellcasting according to Magical Mechanics could achieve better spell effects. The effect of force existed in almost every aspect, so this kind of calculation was ubiquitous.
The unfriendly Calculus made matters worse. Except for a few gifted individuals, most people were still unable to use mechanical knowledge to correct spellcasting.
Ace finished speaking and did not speak further. He gave up his position and signaled Betty to come forward.
Betty did not decline. She pulled Polina and Caruso onto the stage together. Polina was good at Activation Magic, and Carouso had accumulated a large amount of biological bloodline experience while studying supernatural transformation.
“I have also been thinking about the problem raised by Lord Ace. How to effectively improve our calculation power? How to let us possess stronger calculation power while avoiding extra risks as much as possible? Here, I propose an idea for your reference.
“As everyone knows, our thinking ability comes from the brain and the soul. Then why not start from here?”
