Chapter 491: God of Arithmetic

While the group was talking, at the West Tower of the Magic Castle.

Ace was slowly entering the “Fantasia” dream world, adjusting the situation of the entire dream world. The most basic particle of the entire dream world was the “Atom,” but this kind of atom was only an imaginary atom without properties.

At this moment, based on the latest elemental classification, Ace shaped some atoms into elements with unique properties.

Hundreds and thousands of mirror surfaces flashed before Ace’s eyes. Various wizards lived, studied, researched, explored, and fought in the “Fantasia” dream world.

White light bloomed in Ace’s eyes. He looked around and said with a surging voice:

“I could reach the correct direction and the correct path faster based on knowing everything, but that would be of no avail. The collective of wizards cannot be dragged forward by me alone; instead, the excellent individuals of this collective should explore autonomously amidst constant stumbling.

“High Tower Wizards already have a relatively mature way of thinking and cognition. What I do is let go, letting them discover on their own, make mistakes on their own, and grow on their own.

“One day, even if I am not here, the collective of wizards will endure!”

This voice was resolute, echoing in the starry sky of the entire dream world, yet no one knew it now.

The dream mist rippled slowly, seemingly echoing Ace.

After adjusting the virtual architecture of the “Fantasia” dream world, Ace returned to reality, his mind sinking into his mental imagery world.

The most basic particles were endowed with various elemental properties according to his cognition, and various discovered elemental reactions were quietly recorded in the bottom layer of the mental imagery world.

Ace held the Level 4 Astrolabe Core, his eyes somewhat blurred, and he murmured softly: “I should go explore the broader unknown. First, think of a way to manufacture a real Astral Compass!”

In the following time, the entire High Tower was carrying out great discoveries of elements and compounds like wildfire, but Ace never appeared again.

When the wizards looked for Ace, they only learned from the clone in “Fantasia” that Ace had gone out to look for magic materials, but when he would return was unknown.

The High Tower Wizards, who were accustomed to Ace often leaving suddenly, didn’t care much. Following the established organizational structure, the Supreme Council composed of Level 2 Wizards was responsible for the normal operation of the entire Magic Council.

…

A year passed in the blink of an eye in reality. Because of the time acceleration in Fantasia, the time for various discussions and experiments was greatly reduced, and the wizards achieved huge results.

Laval, a rising star of the Element School, discovered Simple Substances (elementary substances)—pure substances composed of the same element—and perfected the Elementology constructed by Olli, Ace, and others.

All wizards knew that the world was composed of atoms. Different atoms meant elements with different properties. Their self-combination and mutual combination constituted the various substances and magical changes in this world.

Logan wrote the Table of Element Equivalents, recording the dozen or so discovered elements. Now, Elemental Magic was all about reactions and properties, thriving prosperously.

Hook Thoth, the incarnation of Demigod Thoth mingling among wizards, also became an advanced warlock apprentice. He actually had no bloodline restrictions; he himself was the source of the bloodline.

Relying on his study of magic during this time, quietly collecting the fragmented Hearts of Mathematics of the crowd with the help of his status and contracts, plus the incredibly prosperous research on Magic Computers in recent years, Thoth really managed to create something.

…

Outer World, Thoth’s semi-plane.

There were countless mathematical symbols, numbers, equations, and inequalities floating here. Various runes were born and destroyed. Wizards debated fiercely, and scenes of calculation appeared faintly.

His eyes bloomed with pure golden brilliance, and Divine Power surged as He did his best to condense the Divine Foundation. Those endless numbers and mathematical symbols, under His guidance, were sucked into the sea eye like seawater, gradually condensing into a small ball.

Crystal clear, yet seemingly hiding endless mysteries.

Thoth frowned tightly, obviously dissatisfied with this small ball. The Power of Status harvested from Thoth City-State poured into the small ball. The small ball shone with magnificent light, causing the entire semi-plane to tremble slightly.

The small ball shrank gradually. There was a faint trace of pale green mist hidden within it, but upon closer inspection, it disappeared.

His handsome face was so melancholic that mortal women would feel distressed seeing it. Thoth whispered: “Indeed, it is impossible to create a Mathematical Divine Foundation so simply. But this is not bad either, only slightly conflicting with the God of Knowledge.”

The small ball slowly submerged into Demigod Thoth’s body. His figure trembled slightly, then shone with magnificent light. It took a long time to end. His eyes seemed to have flames; they were so bright.

“Arithmetic Domain. I didn’t expect it not to even count as the Mathematical Knowledge Domain, just the Arithmetic Domain. Slight conflict with the God of Knowledge, but my path is greatly different from His. Relying on the Goddess of Wisdom, the God of Knowledge seeks to collect knowledge; He seeks breadth.

“I want to develop deeply in the direction of mathematics; I seek depth. I must go to the Mother Goddess and sign a contract with the God of Knowledge.”

He took a step forward, disappearing from the semi-plane, and actually appeared in the Kaya Divine Mountain.

This was a hilly area where his semi-plane connected with the Kaya Divine Mountain. Unlike Ace, Demi-god Thoth himself was a high-born god among the Kaya Deities. All matters could be resolved by the Lady of the Night, who was one of the Twelve Titan Main Gods.

Flying in the Kaya Divine Mountain for a while, Thoth arrived at a place of Eternal Night. There shone a bright moon. The night was not pitch black, but rather somewhat quiet.

Just as Thoth arrived here, a gentle female voice rang out: “My youngest son, is this the domain you chose?”

The moonlight condensed like wind. In the blink of an eye, a woman whose figure could not be seen clearly, shrouded in moonlight, appeared in front of Thoth.

Thoth dared not be negligent. He knelt on one knee and said respectfully to the woman in a low voice: “Mother Goddess, I chose the Arithmetic Domain. I want to achieve the status of the God of Arithmetic.”

The Lady of the Night did not speak. Pondering for a moment, moonlight flickered in her hand, faintly glowing. A phantom of a long river emerged and then dissipated.

The Lady of the Night seemed to have seen something. She said with a solemn and serious expression: “My son, if you only want to divide the Knowledge Domain, I can intercede for you; there is no problem. But if you want to use this as a ladder to go further… I have seen all possibilities; you have no chance to ascend to the domain you dream of.”

A cloud rose in Thoth’s heart. He gritted his white teeth and said to the Lady of the Night: “Mother Goddess, I do have ambitions, but I am not bold to the point of ignorance. I once mingled among wizards and heard a saying: ‘Cognition is a spiraling upward process.’ Maybe I won’t reach that domain, but even by constantly approaching it, I will gain unimaginable power.”

The Lady of the Night took a step forward. Shrouded in moonlight, She was so hazy. With a gentle wave of her fair hand, Thoth and She disappeared unexpectedly.
