Chapter 492: Return to the Reflection World

In another part of the Kaya Divine Mountain stood a colossal academy. Thousands of great scholars and wise men, accumulated over more than a dozen generations of civilization, were gathered here.

This was the node where the semi-plane of Her Holiness, the Goddess of Wisdom Metis, intersected with the Kaya Divine Mountain. The Goddess of Wisdom held a scale in one hand, smiling as She listened to the debates of the wise men, Her expression one of contentment.

The God of Knowledge held a book, recording while listening. His expression seemed somewhat anxious.

Metis gently pressed Him, speaking gently yet solemnly: “Do not worry. Look, They have arrived.”

A burst of moonlight flickered, and the Lady of the Night and Demi-god Thoth walked out from within the moonlight.

The Goddess of Wisdom Metis welcomed them warmly, linking arms with the Lady of the Night. She was the younger sister of the Lady of the Night, Artemis. After the death of the First God Kaya, the two of them were born in succession, and their relationship was quite intimate.

Thoth and the God of Knowledge followed the two Main Gods into the great hall. The Goddess of Wisdom’s hall was not flashy; instead, it held a sense of solemn dignity. The decoration of the entire hall was simple, elegant, and classical, full of charm.

The Lady of the Night, Artemis, did not speak in riddles. After She and the Goddess of Wisdom Metis took their seats as guest and host, She immediately said: “According to the rules of the gods, I should not have brought this matter up. But I believe you and Amion have already felt it: the Authority of Knowledge has been split.”

The Goddess of Wisdom Metis’s expression remained unchanged, maintaining a mysterious and noble smile. The God of Knowledge, Amion, looked somewhat embarrassed. He coughed: “When a Main God speaks, I, as a Subordinate God, should not interrupt. But since this concerns the domain of divine authority and the foundation of my path, I must speak.

“I have held the Knowledge Domain for thousands of years, yet I still have not explored its full breadth and depth. My full divine name is the God of Recording Knowledge; I dare not overstep and claim to be Knowledge itself.”

The Lady of the Night, Arte, smiled slightly. Amion was very sensible and gave them face, so She couldn’t be too excessive. Thus, She said gently: “In any case, Thoth’s Divine Foundation has intersected with your domain. I hope you can part with this portion of authority. As compensation, I will gift you a Divine Phantasm that can withstand a full strike from a Main God.”

Saying this, Artemis took out a piece of pitch-black long gauze. Her fair hand stroked it gently, and the gauze transformed into a small shield, floating in mid-air.

The God of Knowledge, Amion, glanced at the Goddess of Wisdom Metis. Seeing Metis nod, he reached out to catch the shield. Then, he summoned his Divine Authority Domain, and the light of knowledge instantly illuminated the entire hall.

Thoth took out the ball of light representing his Divine Foundation and merged it with that radiance, cutting away the light of knowledge regarding mathematics. In an instant, the God of Knowledge’s face turned pale, as if he had suffered a great blow.

The Goddess of Wisdom couldn’t bear it. She reached out her jade-like hand to hold Artemis’s hand and said: “Amion has made a considerable sacrifice. Please, sister, grant him another treasure to restore his power.”

The Lady of the Night nodded. She threw a multi-colored ball of light, which hit Amion right between the eyebrows. Amion’s complexion immediately became much ruddier, and his originally boiling and unstable domain gradually stabilized.

Thoth cut the Knowledge Domain, absorbed the knowledge regarding calculation and mathematics, and His Divine Foundation was complete.

He bowed to the three Deities present one by one, then said to Amion: “Thank you, Holiness, for your help today. I wish to conclude a covenant with Your Holiness. From now on, whenever Your Holiness summons me, I will provide unconditional support up to three times.”

…

While Thoth was busy with the Divine Foundation of the Arithmetic Domain, Ace had already appeared in the Reflection World. Thirteen Star Noble Phantasms lingered around him, instantly raising his power to Eternal Epic.

A phantom of the Calamity Sword gradually solidified, aiming straight at the Bone Dragon in front of him. This dragon was nearly three hundred meters long. Compared to the Demigod Dragon Paralanda, it was like a small worm, but compared to Ace, it was still a colossal behemoth.

That Bone Dragon was the very one that had once chased Ace. The Kaya World itself had no giant dragons. In fact, in the entire Astral Plane, only the legendary World of the Dragon’s Nest was the origin of all giant dragons.

However, in the very beginning of ancient times, the Dragon’s Nest was destroyed. The giant dragons scattered and fled the World of the Dragon’s Nest. Most died lost in the Astral Plane, while a small number struggled to survive and created the Secret Art of Astral Travel.

From then on, the footprints of giant dragons gradually spread across the Astral Plane. The Kaya World had been visited by a few giant dragons at its birth and had prospered for a time, but unfortunately, they all died in the struggles of civilization iterations.

To create the Astral Compass, besides that core of Level 4 Mystery, Ace also needed the bone of a giant dragon—at least a Legendary-level giant dragon bone.

Using the bones of other Legendary Creatures might be a possible substitute, but the effect would be uncertain.

Ace was unwilling to take risks. He happened to have seen a Bone Dragon in the Reflection World before, so he went deep into the Reflection World. It took him nearly a year to finally find the Legendary Bone Dragon that had nearly killed him back then.

Enemies met without any words. The Bone Dragon subconsciously spewed a mouthful of pitch-black Death Dragon Breath. Ace, however, was not afraid at all. Over the past year, he had constructed an Invisible Robe engraved with hundreds of thousands of Micro Alien Dimensions. Each space was an independent defensive unit, possessing an extremely strong defensive effect when combined.

This Invisible Robe was engraved with Regeneration Series Runes. As long as mana was provided, it could recover even if most of it was damaged.

Without dodging, Ace took the breath attack head-on. Unexpectedly, he was unharmed. Instead, he took the opportunity to summon the thirteen Star Noble Phantasms, briefly boosting his power to the Eternal Epic level.

The phantom of the Calamity Sword gradually solidified. The Bone Dragon had no time to dodge before its head was hit by the semi-solidified Calamity Sword phantom, turning into powder in an instant.

The burning Soul Fire was also thoroughly extinguished. The headless skeleton lost its power and collapsed with a crash.

“The effect of this full-strength strike is not bad. I don’t have the habit of feigning weakness to strike later. Since we are fighting, I must go all out from the start.

“After this test, my Invisible Guardian Robe can tank a Legendary strike safe and sound, and it hasn’t even reached its maximum defensive threshold.”

As he spoke, he flew above the skeleton and extended his hands.

A huge vortex-shaped dream mist gradually appeared, covering the entire skeleton nearly three hundred meters long. Then it dissipated, taking the skeleton with it and disappearing.

Ace did not leave the Reflection World. Instead, he continued to fly there. In a short while, he arrived inside a gloomy castle.

A powerful Humanoid Skeleton Lord was waiting at the castle gate. In front of him were ten thousand Humanoid Skeletons. His bones were crystalline, faintly glowing with red light, and his body was covered in armor made of bones. He looked extremely difficult to deal with.

Seeing Ace walk over, the Humanoid Skeleton Lord did not attack. Instead, he led all the Humanoid Skeletons to kneel and prostrate. Ace also walked up calmly and helped the Humanoid Skeleton Lord up.

“I didn’t expect you to develop to this extent. It was just a whim of mine, and I didn’t even use Prophecy Spells. I was truly startled by you. Well done.”
