Chapter 499: Drama
Medimus City-State. King Tedus sat upright on the throne, his expression solemn. He had just walked out of the temple, his whole body shrouded in pale golden light, having become a Quasi-Legend Hero.
Below him, Golden Hero Arnold and Golden Hero Dikens stood on both sides, their expressions grave.
Tedus glanced at the Quasi-Noble Phantasm “Lament of Frost” in Dikens’s hand, knocked his forehead with his hand, and said to Arnold: “A terrifying evil existence has descended upon the former lands of the Northern Territory. I just asked the Ancestor God for help. According to the oracle, this is a projection of the Prince of the Abyss, Dorkabach!”
Arnold looked solemn and said in a deep voice: “If He wants to go south, it is almost impossible for us to stop Him. Can the Goddess provide some assistance? Also, Holiness Pontos, the Demi-god of Port Tsmali in the south—if He can take action, then we might be able to kill Dorkabach’s projection again.”
Tedus shook his head and said: “Today is different from the past. You know, Athena has disappeared. Without a vessel, it is difficult for the Goddess to descend, and even if She descends, She cannot stay for long. As for Port Tsmali, I have already sent an envoy. Holiness Pontos’s serious injuries have not healed, and He cannot take action.”
Arnold frowned even tighter. He said: “Then this is too difficult to handle. I am just a Golden Hero. Dikens, using the Quasi-Noble Phantasm, barely counts as a Quasi-Legend. Plus Your Majesty, that’s just two Quasi-Legends and one Golden Hero. We are powerless to resist at all.”
Tedus’s expression changed. After thinking for a long time, he said to Dikens: “I have a method that might work, but I need to borrow the ‘Lament of Frost’.”
Hearing this, Dikens did not hesitate. He knelt on one knee and immediately held the Quasi-Noble Phantasm “Lament of Frost” high: “Your Majesty, you only need to command if you have a need; there is no need to use the word ‘borrow.’ ‘Lament of Frost’ belongs to the royal family originally.”
Tedus nodded, looking like he wanted to say something but stopped. He grabbed the Quasi-Noble Phantasm and said: “Then I will hold it for now. I will go and return shortly.”
After speaking, holding the Noble Phantasm, he leaped a few times and went outside the city.
Just as King Tedus flew towards the outside of the city, the Temple of Medea suddenly shone brightly. A tall, sturdy, and heroic-looking young man walked out. He wore a pure gold olive branch crown on his head, walking with a tiger’s steps and a dragon’s gait, majestic without anger.
In just a few steps, this person walked to the palace. The guards were shocked upon seeing him and bowed down one after another.
The young man walked all the way into the main hall. Seeing Arnold and Dikens, he asked sternly: “Where is Tedus?”
The two were originally annoyed at being questioned loudly by the newcomer, but upon closer inspection, they hurriedly prostrated themselves.
Arnold said respectfully: “Greetings, Your Majesty the First King. King Tedus took the ‘Lament of Frost’ and went outside the city.”
The newcomer was none other than the City Builder, King Ronamos. Hearing this, he was shocked: “Bad news. Tedus has already colluded with the devils, plotting to subvert the rule. Originally, he kept enduring silently and actually deceived the Goddess. But some time ago, my great-granddaughter Athena prayed through various means, and only then did I learn of it.”
Ronamos didn’t have time to explain in detail. With a leap, he left the city instantly, leaving Arnold and Dikens looking at each other in dismay.
Outside the city, in the cemetery. King Tedus was already draped in the authority. He held the “Lament of Frost” high. Power surged through his body, and the entire cemetery instantly turned into a Snow Country.
Ronamos had arrived with a whistle, shouting loudly: “Tedus, my grandson, stop now! I can still spare your life.”
Tedus grinned hideously and didn’t answer. He jumped directly into the tomb chamber deep in the grave. The tomb chamber was very wide. Grooves on the ground formed a complex and strange pattern, pointing directly to the huge stone sarcophagus in the center.
On the stone sarcophagus, a passage seemingly imbued with magic was inscribed.
“Samus Medea, son of Ronamos, is buried here. The gods are unjust; the blood descendant wards off disaster. Prince of Lust, have mercy on the world.”
In a trance, it seemed as if an enchanting and beautiful woman was rebuking coquettishly. Tedus rushed to the stone sarcophagus in three steps, opening the coffin lid.
Inside was a young and heroic God-descendant whose brows and eyes were very similar to Ronamos. Tedus did not hesitate and plunged the short sword “Lament of Frost” into the young man’s chest.
In an instant, countless witches seemed to be whispering softly, and cold wind seemed to be howling. The young man in the stone sarcophagus suddenly opened his eyes; his ruby-like eyes were very intimidating.
He slowly stood up from the ice coffin. The aura of hatred and coldness was spreading. Tedus grasped the young man’s hand firmly. The authority flowed into the young man’s body, and a mutation was about to occur.
Ronamos had arrived. He looked at everything in front of him with grief. The Noble Phantasm “Ronamos’s Dream Theater” activated. A magnificent circular grand theater descended, replacing the Snow Country.
“Samus, Tedus, as my son and grandson, you actually betrayed the divine blood and defected to the devils. Today, I can only endure the pain and kill you.”
Samus’s power had reached the peak of Legend. The short sword at his heart had disappeared. He waved his hand gently, frost rolled, and Tedus was taken into the shadow behind him.
“Father, long time no see. Why do you want to fight as soon as we meet? After all, I warded off disaster for you and the Ancestor God. Seeing that my divine blood potential far exceeded yours, you ruthlessly schemed to use me to ward off disaster. What kinship do we have left to speak of?”
While speaking, cold frost rose on Samus’s hand. Hatred as tangible as substance spread, turning into a sharp blade.
He held the sharp blade high, smiling with his handsome face devoid of any emotion: “This is the Blade of Hatred forged by betrayal. My son and I have abandoned the divine blood. From now on, the two of us are the Hatred Devil and the Vengeance Devil.”
Boom!
Tedus suddenly appeared from behind, holding a giant hammer transformed from the Heart of Vengeance. The two besieged Ronamos.
Ronamos spoke no more. With a cold snort, his power suddenly increased greatly, and his figure disappeared. The surrounding scenery changed drastically, actually turning into the Royal Palace of Medimus City.
Tedus and Samus suddenly turned into children, being escorted and driven, stumbling into the palace.
On the palace throne, Ronamos sat high above, his expression solemn.
Tedus and Samus’s faces changed drastically. They wanted to struggle, but found themselves powerless, as if they had really returned to their childhood.
Samus gritted his teeth and said, grinding them: “You achieved Demigod status? Otherwise, it would be impossible to suppress us like this using a mere drama.”
Ronamos was too lazy to even pay attention. He signaled the attendant beside him with his eyes. The attendant bowed slightly and announced loudly:
“Prince Samus, Royal Grandson Tedus, the two committed the great crimes of disobeying their father and disobeying their grandfather respectively, and further blasphemed the glory of the gods.
“I orders: Behead the two immediately to rectify human relations, respect the laws, and bring glory to the divine blood.”
