Chapter 515: Fate

Ace clenched his hand, and the spindle phantom vanished instantly. He continued leaping, delivering money to the next household. Thoughts churned in his mind. The phantom of the Spindle of Fate had many functions, but after all, it wasn’t the real thing, so the effect of harvesting the Power of Fate was still somewhat poor.

He opened his right hand, and the spindle phantom appeared. Ace took off his mask and pressed the spindle phantom against his forehead. The center of his eyebrows immediately bulged. With a soft growl, the center of his eyebrows split vertically, and a third eye appeared in the center.

This eye was formed by the Spindle of Fate. Even if Ace put on the mask, it wouldn’t affect the vision of this eye.

In fact, there were no other objects in the vision of this eye, only the Power of Fate and Threads of Fate.

“Everyone is a node of the Power of Fate. Between nodes are different threads. The more connections there are, the more tangled the Threads of Fate become.

“I want to harvest a large amount of Power of Fate. Right now, there is a ready-made Vortex of Fate. Almost everyone in the Old Street is closely related to the Maine Gang, and the boss of the Maine Gang, Violent Bear Maine, is the node where all fate lines intertwine!”

Ace was already approaching Violent Bear Maine’s residence in the Old Street. It was the most prosperous place in the Old Street, a trinity of brothel, casino, and tavern, and also the money-squandering den where many rich people in Bernada were most willing to come.

In the vision of the Eye of Fate between his eyebrows, nodes were densely distributed here, and threads were entangled. Many people looked like balls of hemp thread, making the threads unclear.

“The entanglement of Threads of Fate here is simply like a big treasure house.”

Ace couldn’t help licking his lips. He had long since taken off his mask and put the cloak into the bundle on his back. The Eye of Fate between his eyebrows was tightly closed, the slit grown together, making his forehead look slightly bulging but otherwise normal.

He walked forward steadily. Several girls had already noticed Ace, and even more so, noticed that Ace’s clothes were valuable. They warmly held Ace’s arms, teasing and inviting Ace inside.

Ace also boldly hugged the girls. Just as he was about to enter, he suddenly heard a commotion.

He saw a dozen or so strong barbarians surrounding a woman in a white dress. The woman in the white dress wielded a long sword, actually handling them with some ease.

This woman was none other than the beautiful girl Yamila Bernard, whom Ace had met once. Holy Light flickered faintly on her body, radiating a heroic spirit.

For some unknown reason, she had a direct conflict with the Maine Gang and was actually fighting at the entrance of their lair.

Ace looked carefully and was greatly surprised. The Power of Fate on that beautiful girl was actually unusually dense, yet her Threads of Fate were very few.

“This is an uncut jade, which can be used to weave an extremely wonderful drama.”

Ace muttered in a low voice. The glamorous girls beside him didn’t hear clearly and hurriedly leaned close to Ace, saying charmingly: “What did you say, my lord? We didn’t hear clearly.”

Ace laughed loudly and gave each of them a bold slap on the buttocks: “Your lord said, I’m going to make sure you can’t get out of bed today!”

Amidst a burst of shy clamor, Ace embraced the two and slowly entered this prosperous place, faintly hearing the unknown beautiful girl shouting something like “she is unwilling… uphold justice…”.

A large group of strong men poured out of the prosperous place, led by a fierce-looking man. The strong men didn’t speak; several bags of quicklime were poured directly, blinding both their own people and Yamila.

Then four people held a sturdy large net to cover the temporarily blinded Yamila. Only then did the fierce strong man rush out. His body muscles suddenly bulged, his fists and arms becoming extremely thick, and he beat Yamila severely.

Trapped in the net and unable to see clearly, Yamila lost the power to fight back and was easily knocked unconscious.

Then the strong man dragged Yamila away. Ace calmly took advantage of the situation and said: “Is that your boss, Violent Bear Maine?”

The girls hit Ace playfully and laughed charmingly: “Yes, and our boss is amazing. Some sisters couldn’t get out of bed for three days and nights. I wonder.. how about you?”

This girl provoked intentionally. If it were an ordinary man, he would probably be burning with anger, but Ace just smiled slightly. He hugged the girls and entered this money-squandering den.

Ace lost money wantonly in the casino inside, drinking good wine and enjoying himself immensely.

The girls couldn’t help asking: “You are so generous; I wonder what you do?”

Ace laughed boldly and said loudly: “I usually just muddle along. If you ask what I do, let me tell you—I am a writer!”

None of the girls believed him. A girl with an exquisite figure leaned over and said: “My lord, you must be joking. Who doesn’t know that writers are the most shabby in Bernada?”

Another girl with a plump figure also said: “I just met a writer a few days ago who said he came to gather material. Not only did he left without paying us sisters, but he was also caught by his creditors and locked up to write. It was miserable.”

“Yeah, yeah. I originally thought being a writer should be a very prestigious job. I didn’t expect him to be caught by his boss and creditors like catching a little chick.”

Listening to their chattering and various ridicule, Ace felt a headache for a moment and couldn’t help saying:

“I am not a ordinary writer, but a playwright. I came here today to gather material. However, I’m different from others; I have plenty of money!”

Bang!

A bag of gold coins smashed onto the table, revealed sparklingly. Others looked at it with greedy eyes. Several people swallowed their saliva and made gestures to the people behind them.

Ace didn’t care. He came here today to lose money and record characters. With money paving the way, whenever Ace encountered someone he was interested in—that is, someone with a large amount of Power of Fate and Threads of Fate entangled—he would find out about that person’s situation.

Ace spoke pleasantly and looked talented, making many people laugh happily with his compliments. They all liked him and joked with him one after another.

Ace also took the opportunity to record the names and situations of these fate nodes one by one as characters for the fate stage play he was weaving.

This place was indeed the prosperous center of the Old Street, with a dense flow of people and extreme prosperity. Some big shots obviously didn’t want to pay attention to Ace. Ace didn’t mind either. While switching to another person to understand, he asked others about the situation of the big shots.

Just like this, in nearly a night’s effort, Ace really mastered the basic situation of many people.

He seemed a bit tired, lying on the recliner with his eyes closed to rest. The girls beside him also left reluctantly after taking the gold coins. Some girls wanted to have a fling with him but were firmly rejected by Ace.

“Hmph, what writer? I think he’s just a big fool. He doesn’t want to enjoy us. Could he be born with that problem?”

“Yeah, he also said he came to collect material. With his cowardly look, what material can he collect? Could he be a virgin?”

“Wait until he walks out this door, maybe he’ll just…”

“Shh, stop talking…”

A burst of charming laughter and playfulness, wanton laughter and chasing, filled the entire hall with a joyful atmosphere.

Ace, with his eyes closed, didn’t care. In that eye between his eyebrows, a phantom of a script was slowly unfolding. The character column was already densely packed, and the stage had also been determined. Only scenes of wonderful plots were missing.

Ace was concentrating on thinking about what could pull the vast majority of fate threads when a round of applause suddenly rang out on the stage.

He opened his eyes in surprise. Unknowingly, this place was already crowded with people. A beautiful and curvaceous woman had walked onto the stage. Her clapping movements were clearly light, but the sound was extremely loud.

Everyone looked at her. Ace noticed a trace of fear in many people’s eyes.

Seeing that everyone’s attention was focused, the woman said in a somewhat pungent voice: “Our Soxi Trading Company will conduct a temporary auction here. We guarantee that every item is absolutely genuine, but we also promise you that every item is troublesome goods. Are you ready?”

Listening to the noisy discussions of the people around him, Ace vaguely heard unclear words like “trouble… background… ability” and was somewhat puzzled.

The high platform suddenly rose. A scantily clad but pure and beautiful woman appeared on the stage. She looked pitiful, her expression anxious and fearful, covering her body hard with her hands, trying to avoid the greedy gazes from all sides.

“A genuine noble young lady, absolutely untouched goods. Starting bid at ten gold coins.”

The people below the stage laughed hehehe. A man exclaimed in a low voice: “This seems to be the lost eldest daughter of the Baron Mellon family.”

A wretched-looking noble youth chuckled and shouted loudly: “Twenty gold coins.”

Everyone was shocked. Although noble young ladies were rare, if it were a female slave of equal beauty, twenty gold coins would be enough to buy twenty.

A black fatty next to Ace snorted coldly and said dissatisfiedly: “Twenty-five gold coins!”

The wretched noble youth was furious. The two competed with each other. In the end, the noble youth actually took down this noble young lady for fifty gold coins.

Ace frowned tightly. He didn’t like this atmosphere, especially involving human trafficking. It was simply challenging his moral bottom line. But Ace didn’t rush to act. He was weak and alone here. His limited strength couldn’t even guarantee he was stronger than Violent Bear Maine. Fighting head-on was absolutely unwise.

After this, various types of rare treasures appeared in this auction house. Whether it was the Holy Oil necessary for grace, the Deep Sea Giant Whale Skin Treasure Armor, or the long spear blessed by Nature Spirits, none were ordinary items, but all came from improper sources.

The people here were not easy to get along with; many were desperadoes. They carelessly spent several times the price to buy these rare items, overjoyed.

Human trafficking that obviously violated the kingdom’s laws and even the religious spirit was even more frequent. Looking at the complex fate under those people and things, Ace recorded secretly.

Time passed bit by bit. A stone like uncut jade was placed on the stage.

This stone looked irregular in shape, but the surface was very moist and soft. careful observation revealed tiny textures. It looked very unusual at a glance.

Although the Eye of Fate between Ace’s eyebrows was closed, it still saw through the skin that a huge amount of Power of Fate was condensed on that stone, with an unusually large number of Threads of Fate wrapped around it, which shocked Ace.

“What is this thing, actually having so much Power of Fate? If I can collect a part of it…”

While he was thinking in his mind, the host on the stage had already said: “This stone is the famous King Testing Stone, absolutely genuine, and with a long history! This is an item bestowed by the Holy Light, coming from a city in the west. The specific source cannot be said, the process cannot be said, and the trouble is definitely not small. Those who want it, weigh your own strength first.”

People below the stage discussed spiritedly, but they were not moved.

“This stone is certainly a wondrous item, but apart from collecting dust at home, it has no other use.”

“The person who stole this stone must have been bored. The King Testing Stone is only useful for the initial selection of candidates. With such big implications, only a madman would buy it.”

…

People discussed and looked on coldly. For a time, it hit a low point. The host tried her best to promote it but to no avail. Finally, this stone was not sold—passed in.

Just then, Violent Bear Maine’s subordinate suddenly went on stage and whispered a few words to the glamorous host. The glamorous host said in a somewhat agitated tone: “We have one more unexpected item, a beautiful Radiant Female Knight!”

Amidst exclamations from all sides, the scarred Yamila, wearing a white wedding dress, her hands tied to a thin iron rod and her feet fixed, appeared on the stage.

She was so beautiful that after the exclamations, the breathing of the people around became a few degrees louder.

The wretched youth who bought the noble young lady as a female slave instantly felt that the beauty in his hand had lost her appeal. The noble young lady he was holding as a toy was suddenly slapped fiercely by him several times, falling to the ground bleeding.

Ace narrowed his eyes slightly. He looked at that noble with some disgust, wondering what he was thinking. The money in Ace’s hand was absolutely not enough to buy Yamila. In fact, he didn’t intend to buy her either. While observing the strength and Power of Fate of the people around him, he quietly wove the script of the fate stage play.

The men around were excited. The attraction of a Radiant Female Knight was too strong. This feeling of blaspheming the sacred was exactly what many people wanted to pursue. The darkness they usually had no chance to release was magnified at this moment.

Ace slowly moved away from the crowd, looking for a way while weaving the plot.

This auction was full of sin. None of the people present were innocent. Ace intended to punish these people. The girl on the stage had met him once, and the Power of Fate on her body was surprisingly abundant. As long as there was a chance, she still needed to be saved.

He recorded the information of the people present, watching the girl being bought by a wealthy man. That wealthy man looked like a rich merchant, strong and burly, fat and robust. He forcefully touched the girl’s tender white face and laughed loudly.

The Eye of Fate between Ace’s eyebrows quietly released Threads of Fate, marking some characters, and then he walked to the door.

Several people had already noticed Ace. They were active members of the Maine Gang. They exchanged glances and followed slowly.

Ace seemed unaware, walking slowly towards the dimly lit alley, humming a tune, seeming quite comfortable and contented. The people behind him grinned hideously and approached slowly.
