Chapter 525: Gradual Rise

In the Inner World of the Kaya World, Ace controlled the altar to throw the consciousness bodies of all dreamwalkers into the world in the lower layer of the Astral Plane. He left a clone here to guard it, while his main consciousness descended through the channel.

Yamila looked at the brilliant Holy Light on the altar and listened to the holy music. Suddenly, thousands of meteors erupted from the altar, blooming like thousands of threads, and disappeared instantly.

While she was still in shock, she saw Ace walking towards the altar step by step. His figure was swallowed by light, and the milky white brilliance expanded instantly, spreading across the entire Bernada.

Amidst the holy music and white light, Yamila saw a figure of light rising slowly into the air, descending beside her, and handing her a parchment scroll.

The light slowly dissipated, and Ace’s figure disappeared without a trace. Yamila subconsciously opened the scroll, and written at the beginning was a word: “New Testament.”

From this day on, Lafmai Cathedral was upgraded to St. Klan Cathedral. The altar and the New Testament became new religious relics. Yamila initiated a top-down religious reform. From then on, the Holy Light was divided into two.

…

Elina opened her eyes groggily. She found herself lying on a velvet bed. The mattress was extremely soft and comfortable, and her whole body sank deep into the bed.

Ever since being reincarnated by the “Dream God,” Elina had deeply doubted this world. It wasn’t until she met Bruce recently and, after several probes, confirmed that Bruce was the fat wizard apprentice she had killed back then.

He actually came back to life too. Was he reincarnated by the Dream God just like her? But there were many disharmonies in this world. It seemed that a group of strange people could keep reincarnating, which puzzled Elina greatly.

She seemed to have grasped some truths of the world, but the specific details were blurred. It wasn’t until today, when Elina saw the attribute panel in front of her, that she trembled all over. She finally saw the truth of the world.

Lines of text appeared in the message box in front of her eyes:

“Hello, Elina. You should have discovered the strangeness of the world. In fact, the world you lived in was not real; it was just a dream created by the Dream God, and you were just a fake life in the dream.”

This passage made Elina breathe somewhat rapidly. She didn’t even have the mind to observe the surrounding situation and subconsciously closed her eyes.

However, upon closing her eyes, she found that the attribute panel and message box were still in front of her. Elina, whose body was sunk in the large velvet bed, tried hard to stabilize her mind and continued looking at the message box.

“Although fake, from your perspective, everything is real, and you have truly existed in the dream. Now the Dream God will give you an opportunity, an opportunity to move from dream falsehood to real existence.”

Elina read carefully, a glimmer of hope slowly rising in her heart. According to this message, she was deployed by the Dream God to a Level 2 World named [Holy Light – Blue Blood World].

Many people were deployed just like her, and everyone had different tasks. Her task was to establish a true Vampire Clan in this world.

Following the message’s introduction, she opened the attribute panel. Looking at the pitiful Strength, Constitution, Agility, and other attributes, she skipped them directly and stared at the last [Fate Point: 0]. A line of words appeared.

[This is a real world. Please explore methods to obtain Fate Points freely.]

Below it was a gray button labeled [Realization]. She stared at this gray button, and a line of words appeared: [Current Realization Progress 0%. Please invest Fate Points to increase progress.]

“How to obtain Fate Points?”

Doubts appeared on Elina’s pretty face. She saw another page of the attribute panel labeled [Task]. Moving her gaze to it, it was divided into Main Tasks, Side Tasks, and Random Tasks.

[Main Task: Vampire Origin.]

Elina stared for a while, and a few words appeared: [Please explore on your own.] Side Tasks and Random Tasks were basically the same, causing Elina to frown.

“What is all this?”

She muttered softly, opened her eyes slowly, and hid the panel according to the instructions.

Several maids walked in bowing. Elina was a little nervous; she couldn’t understand what these people were saying at all.

But this didn’t hinder her response. Elina looked indifferent and unhappy. When the maids spoke, she just nodded slightly or remained noncommittal, waiting quietly for them to serve her in dressing up.

“Language is a big problem. Did the Dream God not think of this? Or is this also part of the test?”

While her thoughts were running wild, a message suddenly appeared in her vision.

[Dream God’s Gift: Symbiosis. The body you descended into still has another soul. The Dream God grants you the ability to share part of the original body’s memories.]

Elina instantly felt a splitting headache. Her vision went dark, and she fainted.

The same situation occurred in every corner of the entire Holy Light – Blue Blood World. Nearly ten thousand dreamwalkers were thrown into this world. Most of them successfully achieved symbiosis with the bodies they descended into, while a few unlucky ones were discovered and killed before this could happen.

Whether it was the Surface World or the Crypt World, dreamwalkers were distributed almost everywhere in the Human World except the Celestial Realm and the Underworld.

Bruce descended into a little boy. He was screaming in pain because his knees had been broken. It turned out he had descended into a kidnapped boy. This was a criminal gang; they crippled young boys to beg and sold girls into brothels.

The newly reincarnated Bruce had no power to resist at all. Because he tried to struggle, his knees were smashed, and his whole body was beaten black and blue, crawling on the ground in pain.

A strong man stepped viciously on Bruce’s freshly smashed knees, grinning hideously as he listened to his wails: “This is the consequence of disobedience. Be obedient honestly, and at most break an arm. Otherwise, you’ll be like him, only able to be a mange dog for life.”

The other children kept quiet out of fear, sobbing silently.

Bruce had no strength to wail anymore. He looked painfully at the flickering message in front of him, cursing the beloved Firelinker Ace in his heart. This damn consciousness transmigration, why didn’t you ask if I agreed?

Bruce also knew that cursing was useless. After cursing a few times in his heart, he crawled to lean against the corner of the wall, lay with his eyes closed, and studied quietly.

After a while, a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, making other children worry if he had lost his mind to be able to smile while being so miserable.

Bruce was indeed miserable, but he was also very happy. This was a real world, and the time ratio with the Kaya World was one year to one day. This meant he had an unimaginably longer lifespan.

Moreover, as long as he obtained Fate Points, he could directly improve his strength, saving him from bitter cultivation and meditation. This made Bruce overjoyed.

“I must survive now. Having endured such hardship, I need to obtain power.”

While thinking, Bruce tried to meditate. But obviously, this body was not some extraordinarily talented person and did not have innate mind overdrive.

But heaven never bars one’s way. According to his attribute panel, this body had medium magical aptitude. As long as he had Fate Points, he could open the exchange function. Based on Bruce’s years of experience in “Fantasia,” the exchange function should be able to get many good things.

Thinking of this, Bruce couldn’t help laughing “hehehe,” attracting the fierce-looking strong man to punch and kick him.

…

Leaving Bruce aside for now, let’s return to Elina. She had woken up slowly. Not only could she speak the local language, but she also knew the current situation.

This place was called the Principality of Aaron, located in the south of the continent, adjacent to the ocean. Elina’s body belonged to the third daughter of Count Terna Beckley, a grand noble of the Aaron Principality —Baroness Durnas Beckley.

Although she was a baroness, she was still an unmarried noble young lady after all, and usually still lived in the Count’s court in Beckley City.

She had a territory named after her, the Durnas Territory. This was a prosperous barony located in the north of the earldom, with convenient transportation, a large town with a population of nearly five thousand, and a heavily guarded castle.

In the earldom and even the entire principality, many unmarried male nobles coveted Durnas Beckley. As long as they married her, they could immediately possess their own territory, which was a fatal temptation for the vast majority of landless nobles.

As for other grand nobles or even children of the ducal house, the Count did not appreciate them. Although he generously gave each of his three daughters a barony, because he had no sons, his daughters’ marriages must be matrilineal marriages (husband marrying into the wife’s family).

Any noble with the possibility of inheriting a title and territory was unwilling to marry into another family. So Durnas Beckley could only attract those she felt had ulterior motives.

After drinking the pitch-black tonic decocted by a well-trained doctor with a frown, Durnas waved her hand to let everyone leave and calmed down to think.

“What I need most now is a way to obtain Fate Points. According to the instructions, as long as I have Fate Points, I can open the exchange function, including exchanging various bloodlines and abilities essential for Vampires.

“Staying in the Count’s court is certainly good, but it’s too difficult if I want to do something. I have to find a way to go to my own territory.”

Elina wanted to stir up trouble very much now. However, it was unlikely for her to stir up trouble in the Count’s court. But even so, she didn’t give up. As a person living in a world ruled by wizards (Fantasia), Elina understood experimental thinking very well.

“The so-called Fate Point is somewhat vague, but the Dream God has already hinted, suggesting starting with life, preferably intelligent life. Then it is highly likely that various interactions with intelligent life can produce this thing. The most crude and direct interaction is killing!”

Elina climbed up from the thick velvet bed, put on a gauze, extended her tongue to gently lick the corner of her lips, a cold light erupting in her eyes.

Three days later, Elina obtained the right to go to her own territory by pleasing the Count. She claimed that she had never seen her territory in sixteen years, was very curious, and wanted to manage it personally.

The girl’s charming naivety and eagerness made the Count laugh heartily. Neither his eldest nor second daughter had thought of managing their territories themselves. It was acceptable to him that his youngest daughter was willing to try. He allowed Elina to go to her territory in the spring three months later.

However, the Count looked forward to a grandson even more. He warned Elina repeatedly: “Durnas, if you want to manage your own territory, I naturally agree. But I hope you pay more attention to the continuation of our family’s bloodline.

“Both your sisters are married, but neither has given birth to a son yet. I give you two years. You are allowed to freely choose your favorite unmarried noble youth, as long as you like him.

“But if two years pass and you still haven’t found a suitable sweetheart, Father can only arrange the marriage for you personally.”

Elina naturally made a shy expression. Thinking of the Fate Points, she rolled her eyes and came up with an idea.

She told the Count again that she wanted to find an outstanding noble youth, hoping for an all-rounder who was handsome and tall, capable of stabilizing the state with martial arts and governing the territory with literary talent.

The Count couldn’t help laughing loudly: “I also really want to find such an outstanding son-in-law. It’s just a pity that perfection is hard to find in the world. Even as a Count’s daughter, you may not necessarily find such an outstanding person.”

Elina rolled her eyes, flashing like a fawn, and whispered a few words into the Count’s ear. A day later, the Count released the news that he would publicly recruit a son-in-law for his youngest daughter, Durnas Beckley, and hold a grand knight tournament three months later.

This tournament was different from usual. The participating knights not only had to compete in mounted martial arts and foot combat martial arts but also needed to take a written test set by the Baroness herself. After passing, three candidates would be selected by the Baroness and taken to the territory to govern personally. Finally, the one the Baroness liked most would be chosen.

If it were just recruiting a son-in-law, the landless nobles of the principality wouldn’t flock to it. But the Count would retain the selected talents. As long as one had either martial arts or literary talent, they could enter the court and become the Count’s subordinate officials.

For many nobles, this was also very tempting. Their choices were few, and joining the Count’s court was also a very good way out.

Knowing that their appearance didn’t meet the standards of the well-known face-judging Baroness, and many nobles regarded their family names as glory and were unwilling to marry into another family, they all decided to go this time.

Three months passed in a flash. Not only did the landless nobles of the Aaron Principality come, but nobles from nearby principalities and kingdoms who knew the news also rushed over to try their luck.

Elina looked at the Fate Points increasing every day on the attribute panel, a smile appearing at the corner of her mouth. Her goal had been achieved, and she had also tested how to obtain Fate Points through various forms.

“Killing is also a method, but indiscriminate killing is tantamount to killing the hen for the eggs; it’s not a smart way. The truly good method should be standing in a high position and manipulating others. Naturally, one can obtain Fate Points through changes.”

Lying on her large velvet bed, completely naked, her eyes suddenly turned black, her nails grew long and pitch-black, and she roared in a low voice. Two wings grew from her back—wings of a crow.

Four maids served in her bedroom, but they all turned a blind eye. Elina stepped on the thick carpet barefoot and whispered:

“The first Main Task has been completed. It turns out tasks also grant Fate Points; that’s a pretty good path.

“It’s just that this primary Vampire bloodline is too low-level. It hasn’t shaken off the shadow of the Blood Crow yet, nor has it integrated the blood of the Bloodthirsty Bat. The potential is too low.”

Complaining, she walked up to a maid, gently stroked the maid’s upper garment, lifted it bit by bit. The maid trembled all over but dared not resist. Seeing her fangs grow, she bit fiercely on the maid’s neck and sucked slowly.

After a long time, Elina left the maid with a flushed face. Her transformed state had been lifted, and she looked as beautiful as a flower. The maid was pale but not dead, just suffering from excessive blood loss.

These four had all been transformed into Blood Thralls by her. Their lives and deaths were under her control, so they were extremely loyal and dared not make any unusual moves.
