Chapter 578: Law Retrieval

The quasi-planes, sub-planes, and demi-planes near the Kaya Divine Mountain orbited like a sea of clouds, or perhaps a river of stars. Bayen and Betty had just returned from the Wizard World and appeared in Ace’s sub-plane.

They observed Ace’s river of stars with curiosity and shock. Although they knew Ace’s Ninth Ring spell was named “Galaxy Descent,” they hadn’t expected the galaxy to be this vast.

Bayen tugged hard on his beard, exclaiming, “Your Holiness Betty, there are at least over six thousand stars here. Each one possesses an aura far exceeding Level 4. If my guess is correct, this should be the standard Level 5 Noble Phantasm level. It’s too powerful.”

Betty also nodded solemnly and said in a low voice, “Although I don’t know how powerful an ordinary True God is, Lord Ace’s sub-plane should be significantly stronger than that of an ordinary deity. Logically speaking, a True God-level sub-plane should be equivalent to a Level 2 world like the Wizard World. But the Wizard World, even up to now, only has about twenty stellar systems. There are already over six thousand stars here; it’s simply inconceivable.”

Just at this moment, Ace’s true body suddenly appeared behind the two, saying with a smile, “Haha, I won’t be modest. In terms of energy level, my total energy is nearly a hundred times stronger than the Wizard World, but it’s also nearing the Level 5 limit.”

Bayen and Betty hurriedly turned around and bowed: “Lord Ace!”

Ace waved His hand, saying, “No need for formalities. It’s not very convenient to talk in the void either. Come with me.”

The two Mythical Wizards felt a strong pull. Uncontrollably tearing through space, they arrived at a habitable planet. This was the “Earth” of the solar system Ace had created imitating his past life.

Ace didn’t explain. He brought the two to a coastal beach, comfortably enjoying the sunshine.

“I summoned you here this time, firstly, to consolidate our power on the inner side of the world, and secondly, for development. Following the Lady of the Night’s proposal, the Titan Main Gods have already agreed that wizards will become the dominators of this epoch. All God Descendant must cooperate with the spread of magic.

“On the inner side of the world, our era has arrived.

“Therefore, I’m not just recalling the two of you. Very soon, all existences above Legendary Wizard will be recalled. Except for my Demigod projection staying behind to guard the Wizard World, all other high-level forces will throw themselves into the new struggle on the inner side of the world.

“This struggle might lead to a massive leap forward for us. The sheer volume of resources in the Kaya World dwarfs that of the Wizard World. As long as we get the approval of the Titan Main Gods, we will obtain the vast majority of status resources on the inner side of the world. In a short period, we can let a batch of Legends with Mythical potential advance to Mythical!

“This is the Mythical Era belonging to magic!”

Hearing this, Betty and Bayen’s blood began to boil. Although they were already Mythical Wizards equivalent to Demigods, their blood had not yet run cold. At this moment, they still wanted to seize the opportunity to push the High Tower Wizards one step further.

However, Bayen still had worries and said in a low voice, “Such generous conditions… what is the price?”

Ace’s expression grew solemn, and He enunciated every word: “The price is that we must make enemies of the Rebel Gods and the Outer Gods, thoroughly defeating their forces on the inner side of the world, and obtaining dominance over the inner side. The God Descendant are unfit for this heavy responsibility, which is why we have this opportunity. Now, are you prepared for this?

“War has already descended. This is unlike the Wizard World; if we fail, you might perish, and I might fall into slumber.”

Betty lowered Her head and suddenly chuckled hehe. Then She glared, Her eyes full of fiery passion. “Isn’t that even better? We’ve been living in fear and hiding everywhere for a long time. Since we now have the qualification to take the stage, let all future epochs belong to the wizards. It’s not impossible for you, Lord Ace, to take another step forward, and we will follow suit, entering the realm of true immortality!”

Ace laughed heartily, as if getting to know Betty anew. “The war on the inner side of the world will be left to you. With the Wizard World Cluster continuously providing talents transcending time, and with you two as the backbone, I am very reassured.”

The three smiled at each other. After a good while, Bayen said, “Lord Ace, I wonder if we might ask You for guidance on the mysteries of Level 5.”

Ace said gently, “Even if you didn’t ask, I was going to tell you. The Seventh Ring constructed the direction of your Path of Law. The Eighth Ring is equivalent to a Divine Foundation, but there are differences. Based on your theoretical cornerstones, you need to condense the cornerstone that will break through dimensions in the future. I call it the Foundation of the Legendary Immortal.”

Betty and Bayen repeated in confusion, “The Foundation of the Legendary Immortal?”

Ace nodded. “Yes. The so-called Foundation of the Legendary Immortal is actually something very similar to a Divine Foundation, yet completely different. You know that a Divine Foundation is the embryo of a domain. So, what is the Foundation of the Legendary Immortal relative to the law?”

The two Mythical Wizards fell into deep thought. Laws are an objective reality, but unlike domains, laws are relative truths; they have their applicable scopes.

Bayen tentatively summarized, “Is it a kind of cognition? I feel like I can’t quite grasp it.”

Ace nodded. “Very close. The Foundation of the Legendary Immortal is to thoroughly internalize your cognition—more accurately, your understanding of the objective laws of the world—and turn it into your cognitive core. Once your cognition is thoroughly clear, that is the foundation of a Legendary Immortal.

“As long as you construct your own cognitive core, you can become an Eighth Ring Wizard, possessing the possibility of transcending dimensions.”

“Dimensions?”

The two Mythical Wizards were confused again. They recalled carefully; it seemed to have been mentioned in some mathematical discourses. Betty tentatively said, “Length, width, and height?”

Ace nodded and told them: “To advance to a Level 1 Lifeform, the most important thing is to construct a three-dimensional First Ring spell. And within the body of a Hero is also this kind of three-dimensional solid spell model. This is the true supernatural in the conventional sense, universal across the Astral Plane. But the so-called deities, or Level 5 Immortal existences, have transcended the third dimension and entered a four-dimensional height that you currently cannot observe or touch.”

Bayen couldn’t help asking, “What is the fourth dimension like? Are You already a four-dimensional existence? What kind of state of existence is that?”

Ace shook His head and said, “I cannot describe the fourth dimension to you, because you must observe it yourself. As for Me, I am not a four-dimensional existence. I can only be said to be a pseudo-four-dimensional existence that can briefly jump out of the third dimension. Let me use an analogy: we are like characters in a drawing. A Level 5 Immortal is someone who can briefly jump out of the drawing, seize the opportunity to twist the third dimension, and thereby achieve immortality.”

Betty then asked, “What is the fourth dimension?”

Ace answered affirmatively: “It’s time! By twisting time on the three-dimensional level, converging and solidifying one’s world line, and turning one’s past into a result that cannot be eliminated on the three-dimensional level—that is the so-called process of advancing to Level 5 Immortality.

“After reaching Level 5, you will understand the truth of this world: why mana exists in the world, and why the supernatural exists!”

Bayen stroked his beard, unable to hold back his question: “Why is there mana?”

Ace smiled mysteriously. With a wave of His hand, the two felt the world spin. When they opened their eyes again, they had returned to Luminous City in the City-State of Thoth in Salia. Ace’s voice lingered by their ears.

“Some unknowns still require you to explore for yourselves. In some time, I will create the possibility for you to go to the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm, but that will inevitably be a very dangerous journey.”

Bayen and Betty had learned of the unknown, but found themselves feeling even more ignorant. They exchanged glances and walked slowly into Luminous City. The revolution on the inner side of the world was about to begin.

Inside Ace’s Dream Realm, in the galactic center of the galaxy, an ancient and magnificent palace had already been built. Walking into the palace, one would find an ocean here. Right in the center of the ocean stood a mysterious “Door.”

“The High-Dimensional Door and the Magic Sanctuary built imitating the Pantheon are almost finished. I thought the stars in the sub-plane could increase infinitely, but who knew there would actually be a limit? Once it reached over six thousand stars, although I could continue adding more, the efficiency dropped by almost a hundred times. However, a situation like mine is already vastly stronger than an ordinary True God. But it’s still not strong enough.

“Perhaps it’s time to go to the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm. Current resources are very abundant. I can first elevate the Eye of Truth to the law level. To do a good job, an artisan needs the best tools!”

If these words of Ace’s were heard by other True Gods, who knows if they would be so angered they’d cough up blood. Even with His efficiency reduced by a hundred times, He was still three times faster than an ordinary True God. If a star was converted into Divine Power Essence, one star was roughly equivalent to a hundred drops of Divine Power Essence.

Ace effectively possessed nearly six hundred thousand drops of Divine Power Essence. For an ordinary True God who could at most draw and convert a dozen or so drops of Divine Power Essence by opening a high-dimensional rift (which the gods called the Window to the Divine Realm), this was simply unattainable.

Even for a True God who had also become the incarnation of a law domain, they could convert less than a hundred drops at most at one time. For Ace to convert nearly five thousand drops of Divine Power Essence—that is, fifty stars—at once, and ultimately reach the divine power limit of an Immortal existence at the True God level, it was simply like cheating.

It could be said that even veteran True Gods who had existed since shortly after the creation of the world might not necessarily have a more massive accumulation of Divine Power Essence than Ace.

He spent another few days thoroughly perfecting the Magic Sanctuary and the High-Dimensional “Door.”

Looking at the majestic Sanctuary and the “Door” hidden within it in the galactic center, Ace was very satisfied. Thinking about this door using the logic of entropy increase: it turned Ace’s closed-loop isolated system into one that opened a door to a higher-dimensional system with lower entropy.

“According to the Theorem of Entropy Increase, if it is merely an exchange between two systems, then these two systems form a closed-loop isolated system, which will ultimately tend towards uniformity, meaning Heat Death. But in reality, I am not the only ‘system’ interacting with the higher dimensions.

“All existences at Level 5 Immortality and above are interacting with higher dimensions. As for whether higher dimensions are interacting with even higher dimensions, that is unknown.

“Heat Death might exist, and one might even artificially create an isolated Heat Death system. But whether the world we live in will truly head towards Heat Death remains unknown.”

While sighing with emotion, Ace adjusted His state. The ahoge on top of His head jumped abruptly, transforming into the chubby lucky baby and floating up.

The lucky baby hugged that mysterious Book of Records, shoved it into Ace’s hands, and said, “I-I’m not going in. It’s too dangerous there. You almost lost me the previous two times. You take the Book of Records; it will be of great help to you.”

Ace asked, somewhat puzzled, “Don’t you want to take another step forward? During My period of growth, you helped Me a lot. Have you ever thought that you could actually take another step forward too?”

The Book Sprite nodded, then shook its head. “Of course I want to, but it’s too difficult. I am the product of the blending of Your thirst for knowledge and people’s thoughts. The most suitable path for me is the Path of Knowledge, but there is already a deity on that path.

“Perhaps I can find a new path through the Book of Records. If You can continuously use this book to collect various laws, while You perfect the Path of the Great Dream, I might also have a chance to become the God of Rule Records.”

At this moment, the Book Sprite looked especially serious. Although it still spoke in a childish, milky voice, it was evident that it also yearned for it.

Ace nodded and said, “I cannot make any guarantees, but the Path of Dreams is precisely about absorbing other laws and containing My cognition of patterns. I will collect as much as possible, hoping that one day you can become the God of Rule Records. But let’s get one thing straight first: you still have to be My subordinate god.”

The Book Sprite looked at Ace’s serious and clear eyes and nodded heavily. “Definitely. You are my Creator. And I’ve already given You all my foundation; You have to work hard to collect them, Ace.”

Ace smiled and nodded forcefully. Immediately after, He turned into an information flow and surged into the High-Dimensional “Door.”

Every time He attempted to pass through the “Door,” Ace could feel a certain somewhat absurd sensation. It was as if He had leaped from the river onto the shore, like a fish that grew four limbs in an extremely short time, able to crawl on land.

But He was still a fish. He couldn’t leave the “river water” for too long and had to return periodically.

“Amphibian? The third dimension is like water, the fourth dimension is like land. Am I in the evolutionary stage from the third dimension to the fourth dimension?”

Having entered the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm and briefly becoming a four-dimensional existence, Ace suddenly opened His mouth and spoke.

It felt quite absurd, but thinking carefully, it fit very well. The time on the four-dimensional “land” was too short. Ace dared not delay. In the four-dimensional state, the Book of Records turned into a unique information flow orbiting Him, seemingly not requiring Ace to manage it.

Ace’s eyes flickered. The quasi-rule runes of the Eye of Truth guided Him, finding higher-level rune structures like a magnet.

He slowly approached the four-dimensional particle aggregate of the Kaya World. Following the guidance, He arrived at that mysterious location.

“There’s no mistake. This is the four-dimensional form of the rule layer deep within the Great Source.”

With Ace’s Eye of Truth guiding the way, the information flow that the Book of Records had transformed into suddenly became active. Like a tool that massively boosted magnetic force, Ace’s attraction to the law fragments higher than the Eye of True Knowledge became much stronger.

“Observation, analysis, structure, conclusion… The law that these fragments ultimately point to is named ‘Comprehension’!”

Ace stated this within the four-dimensional state of the Kaya Great Source. He was like a super-powerful magnetic source, attracting the fragments of the “Comprehension” law like iron filings. The powerful auxiliary efficacy of the Book of Records manifested at this moment. His speed of retrieving law fragments was nearly ten times faster than when He retrieved the “Fate” law fragments.

Of course, part of the reason was that the “Fate” law was rarer. But even so, Ace believed His efficiency had improved by at least several times.
