Chapter 579: Biting Cold Wind

Efficiently absorbing and weeding out repetitive law fragments, Ace ultimately copied nine and a half “Comprehension” laws.

The law fragments in the four-dimensional state of the Kaya Great Source could be attracted and copied, but not taken away. Therefore, the efficacy of the Book of Records was particularly crucial. Otherwise, even if you attracted a law, you might not have enough time to record it.

He stayed in the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm for a long time, but returning to the third dimension took only an instant. The fourth dimension could distort time, thereby achieving a leap.

At first, His mastery was not pure. As He became more proficient, the three-dimensional time difference between Ace entering and leaving the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm did not exceed one second.

“I need to adjust my state for a period. Entering the fourth dimension and then leaving makes my state very abnormal. I must take time to eliminate this abnormality; otherwise, forcibly going to the fourth dimension again would probably be very dangerous.

“This state is a bit like an amphibian that must return to live in the water for a period. Let’s call it the ‘Four-Dimensional Dehydration State’.”

Ace casually gave this detrimental state a name. He then tore open a four-dimensional rift, drawing and degrading the high-dimensional energy within to convert it into Divine Power Essence. While using the Divine Power Essence to nourish His body, He studied the nine and a half “Comprehension” laws He had just acquired.

The half-law of Comprehension had not yet taken shape and had no practical effect, so it could be ignored.

He sank the nine laws into the Ocean of Rules in His mental imagery world. His true spirit descended into it, surrounded by the nine “Comprehension” laws, and a trace of mysterious rhythm began.

Ace slowly communicated with the “Comprehension” domain in the Great Source. After a long while, His expression relaxed. “I can confirm that an Immortal existence has condensed one law in this law domain, but no existence has yet constructed the complete law.

“Apart from nearly fundamental major laws like Fate, before an ordinary law domain is expanded and deepened, one domain can only correspond to one True God.

“In this way, as long as I condense the complete Law of Comprehension, I will be the God of Dreams and the God of Comprehension in the Kaya World!”

Ace’s expression was slightly excited. He now possessed the complete Law of Dreams, the complete Law of Manifestation, one Law of Fate, and nine Laws of Comprehension.

He slowly integrated the Law of Manifestation into the Dream. This was not a process accomplished overnight, but the slow integration indeed caused mysterious changes in the Law of Dreams. It seemed to become more expansive, but before long, the two laws separated.

Ace’s true spirit pondered: “It’s confirmed that entering the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm allows me to continue picking up dream law fragments, thereby deepening the law. Integrating other laws can make the Law of Dreams more expansive. If my guess is correct, by continuing to deepen the Law of Dreams, sooner or later it will be able to accommodate other laws, thereby expanding the breadth of dreams.

“Perhaps this is the path of advancement for laws: continuously expanding the intension and extension of concepts?

“A complete law cannot integrate into the Law of Dreams, but what about a single law fragment?”

Ace tried extracting one Law of Comprehension and attempted to integrate it into the Law of Dreams. The brilliantly illusionary dream and the single law symbolizing the comprehension of all things actually slowly merged.

He controlled this single Law of Comprehension, and it dissolved like ice melting into water, quickly disappearing into the complete Law of Dreams. Light and shadows seemed to flicker. The Ocean of Rules in the entire mental imagery world was jubilant, and the Law of Dreams seemed to become even more expansive.

Ace felt it earnestly. Within this dream, there was now an artistic conception of comprehension, or rather, the dream domain had derived the ability of dream comprehension.

“Comprehending dreams? How should I put this… the effect of this law has been specialized and weakened, but the dream law domain has practically been enhanced.”

Ace tried integrating another Law of Comprehension into it, only to find it could no longer be integrated.

“This kind of enhancement to a complete law… it seems one complete law can only integrate one distinct law fragment. But I have too few distinct law fragments; I only have one of Fate, and I certainly can’t dismantle the complete Law of Manifestation.

“I can only wait a while and continue delving deep into the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm to pick up law fragments.”

While Ace concentrated on picking up law fragments, inside the world, the High Tower Wizards began their process of expansion under divine mandate. Every city-state had at least one Golden Wizard, and every large region had at least one Legendary Wizard.

A Wizard Tower was built in every city-state to recruit people with magical aptitude. The noble councils of every city-state began to be reorganized. Wizards became honorary nobles whose titles could not be inherited, and every wizard gained equal status and rights as the God Descendant nobles.

Meanwhile, knights believing in the Holy Light of Virtue, warriors cultivating the Path of Blood Energy, and vampires who had ascended from the Wizard World Cluster all began to operate legally. Together with the God Descendant nobles, they became the supernatural components of the inner side of the Kaya World.

After Ace had two audiences with the Titan Main Gods, Necromancers also received special permission; intelligent undead would also become legal entities.

All of this was for one purpose: to gather the fist of the inner world to fight against the newly born emerald secret realms one by one, to fight against the elves.

In the Wizard World Cluster, Ace’s projection began conducting various experiments on the elves of the Elf Realm, aiming to summarize the basic characteristics, types, strengths, and weaknesses of the elves.

In Byrne City, Luna had never thought that one day she could truly stand alongside the God Descendant nobles—not in disguise, but with genuine legal status.

Although she didn’t have the right to enter the noble council like the noble wizard lords, she at least had rights basically equivalent to nobles, apart from political participation.

As a powerful warrior with Level 2 strength, although her actual combat power couldn’t compare to a Third or Fourth Ring Wizard of the same level, she was considered a notable figure in Byrne City, and was even the warrior leader for this deep incursion into the Reflection World.

“Our missions this time are: first, to scout and investigate, determining the number of enemies in the Reflection World corresponding to Byrne City; second, to establish strongholds—wizards of the Necromancy school will station themselves directly, becoming our nails planted here; third, to harass and attack, continuously weakening the enemy’s strength; fourth, to preserve ourselves, which is also the most important. Only by staying alive do we have a chance to defeat the enemy!”

Luna looked at the Golden Wizard on the stage. She knew his name was Eddie. She heard he was extremely adept at summoning contract magic, was also a good hand at contracting undead, and was proficient in alchemical modifications. Therefore, he became the commander of this invasion into the Reflection World.

Eddie looked at the hundreds of people below the stage, his mood also somewhat agitated. As one of the original batch of wizard apprentices who escaped from the Northern Fortress, his achievements could only be described as ordinary.

In several theoretical revolutions, his academic attainments were insufficient to participate in such major events. Whether it was the elemental revolution, the mending of mechanics, the development and perfection of electromagnetism, or the progress of thermodynamics, it all had nothing to do with him.

He also hadn’t seized the several opportunities in the Wizard World Cluster. Only once, during the invasion of the World of Qi, was he finally lucky enough to get a relatively large fragment, obtain resources, and advance from a Third Ring to a Fourth Ring Golden Wizard.

But all this couldn’t change anything. Without becoming a Legend, he only had a lifespan of a few hundred years in the Kaya World, unable to witness the more glorious future of the High Tower Wizards.

As for using the Conservation Sphere invented by Betty—commonly known as the “Defective Immortality Sphere”—not to mention its exorbitant price, once used, one completely lost their potential. He would rather turn into a Lich than lose the possibility of moving forward.

“Only by handling the matters in Byrne City well will I have a chance to receive a blessing. Lord Ace has already made it clear: as long as the mission is completed smoothly, resources sufficient for a Golden Wizard to advance to Legend will be bestowed.”

Looking at the crowd below, Eddie thought while his eyes flashed with yearning.

The magic array was already activated. The over four hundred people slowly disappeared, appearing in the Reflection World.

The scenery here had already changed drastically. It was no longer grayish-white. A dim blood moon and a bright emerald moon hung together in the sky.

Massive amounts of emerald green had already begun to spread, and patches of lush forests had appeared. In the forests, various small animals, flying insects, and long-eared elves loomed faintly.

Outside the forests were piles of white bones and wastelands formed by the desertification of white bones. Various distorted scenes and black silhouettes flashed by; those were shadow creatures.

For a moment, Luna actually had the illusion that they were the villains. These people wanted to restore the eternal, unchanging desolation, while the forest opposite was full of vitality.

“Prepare for battle. The enemy has already discovered us. Remember the lessons from our special training. This species called elves is extremely special. They have excellent eyesight, are extremely agile, and are especially adept at using bows and arrows.

“Moreover, they seem to possess some elemental abilities, and their attacks will carry various elemental effects!”

Eddie reminded everyone present through a “Secret Voice Transmission Spell.” Although the lowest strength present was a pseudo-Hero or Senior Apprentice, the exact strength of the opponents was unknown.

The melodious sound of a flute suddenly rang out. The flute sound was urgent, seemingly warning. The forest rustled. Eddie keenly sensed subtle fluctuations of mana. He subconsciously used the Fourth Ring spell “Golden Wall of Protection.”

The light of the spell model bloomed, and the phantom of a golden, square mini-city protected everyone.

“Bang, bang, bang!”

A series of impacts from heavy objects actually caused this phantom magic city wall created by the golden spell to shake somewhat.

Some wizards opened their Eyes of Perception and communicated through magic: “In the forest straight ahead, about two kilometers away, there are at least thirty enemies hidden. They seem to be attacking using a certain kind of powerful bow and arrow with elemental effects.”

Eddie ordered: “Team One, prepare for a probing magical strike. God descendant, prepare for the Dream Authority. Everyone else, set up defenses. The invasion begins!”

…

One day later, after destroying three secret realms, Eddie and the others encountered worthy opponents. Six elves with strength comparable to Golden Wizards struck together, ambushing their team.

Eddie killed two of the elves, but the joint invasion army composed of wizards, God Descendant, and warriors also suffered significant losses.

They retreated to a valley where a stronghold had already been established.

In the chaos of battle, Luna fled in panic and separated from the main force. Not daring to enter the forest, she could only traverse through the white bones and shadows.

The environment of the Reflection World frequently distorted. Luna quickly lost her sense of direction. Looking at the identical white bones all around, and the similarly distant emerald green, drops of cold sweat slid down her face.

“I seem to be… lost. So hungry, so thirsty…”

As a Level 2 Warrior, Luna should still be able to hold out for a few months relying on her blood energy, but this was not sustainable. However, she was not a wizard, didn’t know magic, and was completely unable to go back. She could only continue walking like a headless fly.

“There’s no other way. I can only risk entering the forest to get some food and water. With my strength, it shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Although her heart was drumming, Luna summoned her courage and broke into an emerald secret realm. Without a doubt, she triggered an unknown barrier, but succeeded in getting food and water before the elves hunted her down.

And so a month passed. Luna gradually became familiar with the situation in the Reflection World, even understanding a few sentences of Elvish. But the nearby elves seemed to all know of her. She fell into a siege and was about to lose her life.

Just at this moment, a biting, intense light suddenly flashed past. Those besieging elves actually died one after another.

She looked up and saw a barefoot, beautiful woman dressed in a white robe approaching.

“You… are human, right? How did you end up in this bone burial ground?”

The cold voice made Luna feel as if a freezing wind had blown past.

She nodded and said, trembling slightly: “I am from the Byrne City punitive expedition. I am a warrior named Luna. I came here to crusade against the elves and accidentally got lost and separated.”

The beautiful woman slowly approached. Her sky-blue hair draped casually over her shoulders, and her gem-red eyes, bright as stars, flashed with cold glints. Her thin lips had almost no blood color, and her skin was somewhat pale. As she drew nearer, Luna felt increasingly cold.

“What is a warrior? You don’t seem to be God descendant? Do not lie to me.”

Luna was startled. This woman didn’t look like a wizard either; she should be a God Descendant noble. But did she know the will of the Titan Main Gods?

The woman looked powerful and perhaps had the ability to distinguish truth from lies. Thinking of this, Luna spoke like a rapid-fire cannon: “By the will of the Titan Main Gods, wizards and God Descendant have reconciled and jointly manage the inner side of the world. Warriors are an ancestor of wizards, a supernatural path derived by His Holiness the True God Ace…”

“What did you just say?”

The woman’s breathing seemed slightly unsteady, sharply interrupting her.

“A supernatural path?”

The woman’s expression was freezing. Frost crept up Luna’s body, making it almost unbearable for her. Luna couldn’t help but think that this woman’s strength was definitely far superior to hers, at least a Legendary Hero!

She trembled and said: “True God Ace?”

The woman seemed to fall into memory, whispering: “He became a True God? Is he no longer walking the path of wizards?”

Hearing this, Luna shuddered and said: “His Holiness Ace is both a True God and a Legendary Immortal. He concurrently walks both paths; He is very, very formidable.”

The woman suddenly broke into a smile, reached out, and pulled Luna up.

“I happen to have some matters to attend to in the bone burial ground. You can be my assistant. After the matters are handled, I will send you back to the surface.”

After speaking, the woman stamped her beautiful bare foot. A massive amount of ice actually rose from the ground, forming a bone dragon cast from solid ice. The woman jumped onto the bone dragon’s back. The howling wind blew past her; her silhouette from behind was so captivating.

Luna followed and climbed up. Getting close to the woman, she asked: “I haven’t yet asked for your esteemed name?”

The woman didn’t turn her head. The giant dragon flapped its wings fiercely and flew towards the sky. In the biting cold wind, Luna heard the woman’s voice: “I am Athena.”
