Chapter 598: A Century

Above the floating city, Ace hovered in mid-air. The Magic Net pulsed in rhythm with Him, driving the blessings of the Kaya Great Source and the status power of the inner side of the world.

Through the Magic Net, Ace had gathered almost all the active status power and Source Power of the entire inner side of the world without any loss.

“With a loose alliance, I can at most mobilize twenty percent of the status power of the entire inner side of the world. But it doesn’t matter; I can clearly feel that I am only a short distance away from Level 6.

“My energy should be concentrated on the Law of the Magic Net. Sublimation! The Law of the Magic Net itself is an existence approaching a Supreme Law, lacking only a tiny bit.”

Ace poured all the pure status power He had obtained, along with a small amount of Source Power, into the sea of foundational rule runes within His mental imagery world.

Here was the Ocean of Rules. The Dream Realm formed the cornerstone, and the Magic Net sat high above; at this moment, it had already suppressed the Dream Realm.

Ace’s true spirit entered the sea of rule runes. Countless spiral rifts appeared. Surging status power poured in, instantly drowning the entire sea of rule runes.

The Law of the Magic Net, situated at the top of the Tower of Rule Runes, suddenly extended tens of thousands of threads, sucking up the turbulent status power.

Ace’s true spirit drifted onto the Law of the Magic Net and actually merged with it, drawing the Law of the Magic Net to continue advancing. Gradually, the status power and a small amount of Source Power were absorbed, and Ace’s Law of the Magic Net also slowly began to change.

Bayen and the other wizards watched Ace, only to see dimensional fluctuations all around Him as His body suddenly disappeared.

“This seems to be a high-dimensional fluctuation. Did Lord Ace ascend dimensions again?”

“Very likely. If it’s truly possible to touch Level 6, there’s a high probability it must be completed in four-dimensional space-time.”

…

In the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm, Ace once again felt the state of detaching from three dimensions.

“It’s different, completely different. I seem to… I seem to be able to completely become a four-dimensional particle!”

Ace keenly perceived the difference. He seemed about to acquire eternal coordinates on the four-dimensional level: a four-dimensional particle.

“The manifestation of my sub-plane on the four-dimensional level is a four-dimensional particle, but Level 6 seems to completely fix this state. In other words, Level 5 is being able to enter the fourth dimension and discover one’s corresponding particle; Level 6 is stabilizing this state, thereby achieving a state where one body is used for two purposes, proceeding in two dimensions simultaneously.”

Ace attempted to completely solidify it, but found it was still somewhat discordant.

His energy composition wasn’t pure enough, and the Law of the Magic Net had only advanced to a pseudo-Supreme Law, not a true Supreme Law.

“The composition of my power still has flaws. To completely stabilize this state, I must advance the Law of the Magic Net to a true Supreme Law. A Supreme Law is like an anchor point for fixing the fourth dimension; only with a Supreme Law can one solidify into a four-dimensional particle.

“A quasi-plane is actually a world that can completely separate and become independent. Kaya is a multi-world system. Only by solidifying oneself as a particle on the four-dimensional level can one truly turn one’s sub-plane into a quasi-plane in the third dimension.

“The so-called quasi-plane actually means something akin to a Prime Material Plane. In other words, a quasi-plane is a quasi-Level 4 world whose rules still have some flaws.”

After thinking through all this, Ace tried again to solidify the particle, and undoubtedly failed. A pseudo-status is ultimately a pseudo-status. Just like the relationship between a tenant and an owner—both live in the house, but the nature of it is vastly different.

“A pseudo-status Demi-god does not have a demi-plane, and a pseudo-status True God cannot sublimate a demi-plane into a sub-plane. Similarly, it’s impossible for a pseudo-status Titan Main God to possess a quasi-plane. But even a tenant should have a rented house.”

The four-dimensional Ace turned His “gaze” towards the four-dimensional state of the inner side of the world. It was a cluster of particles, tightly and solidly packed together—the core of the entire Kaya particle system.

Ace did not continue to attempt to solidify His sub-plane. Instead, He resonated Himself with the inner side of the world, that is, the Prime Material Plane. Using the status power He had obtained and the rank of a pseudo-status Titan Main God, He resonated with the entire inner side of the world.

It was like a baby returning to the mother’s womb, swimming freely in the amniotic fluid. Or like entering a certain mysterious place that seemed to be constantly calling Ace’s name. In His blurry consciousness, He seemed to see a stone stele with several names sparsely carved on it. Among them was one Ace was very familiar with: Augustine.

Ace looked closely at these names. In a trance, He saw great leaders one after another. They established unified civilizations using various methods, continuously developing them. An ascending civilization brought about seething destiny power; one part was digested by the system of the entire civilization, while the other part went to the Prime Material Plane.

And with every demise of a civilization, the consciousness of the Prime Material Plane seemed to grieve. This so-called consciousness was not a certain independent individual, but a collective consciousness similar to the wizards’ subconscious sea, formed by the subconsciousness of all life on the Prime Material Plane.

Ace even “saw” that the consciousness of the Prime Material Plane seemed to be hostile towards God King Kronos, hostile towards destruction, and ultimately completely erupted after the destruction of the previous civilization created by Emperor Augustin

Even the Great Source could not stop it. The Prime Material Plane rejected the deities, and the crystal wall completely closed.

Even the Titan Main Gods, although They could forcibly attack to open the Prime Material Plane, They would also offend the Great Source because of such attacks, and subsequently be cursed by the entire world.

Not a single Titan Main God wanted this. Even God King Kronos did not want this. Offending the Great Source meant there was probably no path left to take other than self-exile.

Ultimately, the God King, representing the gods, made a vow with the collective consciousness of the Prime Material Plane through the Great Source: the gods could only descend using Demi-god-level projections.

This continued until the two worlds collided. The Godfall Storm was actually the collision of the four-dimensional states of the two worlds on the four-dimensional level. This led to the continuous loosening of the vow and destroyed the consciousness of the Prime Material Plane.

The descent of creatures from another world onto the Prime Material Plane meant a reshuffling of the collective consciousness. When the Godfall Storm reached its strongest point, the consciousness of the Prime Material Plane would iterate, and Level 6 existences would be able to descend.

“So that’s how it is. In other words, these are the past ‘tenants’ of the Prime Material Plane? A unified civilization continuously provides destiny power at all times, and the leap of a civilization is a phenomenon of entropy decrease, which will make the ‘entropy’ value of the system of the inner side of the world lower.

“The more orderly, the lower the entropy; the more disordered, the higher the entropy.

“Civilization is the entropy-decreasing machine of the Prime Material Plane. The more orderly and prosperous the civilization, the more flourishing the Prime Material Plane will be, and it will receive more positive feedback.

“Relying on the Prime Material Plane, I can experience the great state of Level 6 ahead of time through it.”

Ace embraced the four-dimensional state of the Prime Material Plane with His mind, instantly feeling that unique experience of solidifying a four-dimensional state. It was as if He briefly became the Prime Material Plane itself, controlling this collective formed by tens of thousands of four-dimensional particles, and also instantly sensing the most important core part.

On the inner side of the three-dimensional Kaya World, Ace’s figure abruptly appeared and abruptly disappeared. He seemed omnipresent, yet also nonexistent.

The power continued to fluctuate, growing stronger and stronger. All creatures across the entire Prime Material Plane felt a certain palpitation from the bottom of their hearts, like a supreme yet intimate existence.

Ace’s figure slowly appeared in front of Bayen, Thoth, and the others, shrouded in a milky-white light.

It seemed the entire Prime Material Plane, everything in it—whether it was the wild grass by the roadside, the swimming fish in the sea, the beasts in the jungle, or the humans in city settlements—was murmuring in Ace’s ears.

Such a massive amount of information, yet He did not find it unbearable; instead, He thoroughly enjoyed it. Moreover, there seemed to be a mysterious power surging towards Him.

After a long while, Ace opened His eyes. The milky-white light around Him gradually dissipated, and that state of being integrated as one with the entire inner side of the world gradually faded. But He had formed an extremely solid connection with the inner side of the world.

Relying on the anchoring effect of the inner side of the world, Ace achieved pseudo-four-dimensional particle solidification. His Law of the Magic Net also temporarily became a Supreme Law. If a deity could enter the world’s rule layer, They would discover that the Law of the Magic Net had temporarily squeezed into the ranks of the supreme.

Threads of the Magic Net began to spread across the crystal wall of the inner side of the world, attempting to stubbornly survive in the Godfall Storm. Failing time and again, yet regenerating time and again.

On the Prime Material Plane, a brand-new era had begun. Under the shroud of the Magic Net, the deities relied on the Magic Net to more efficiently collect the power of faith and status power to maintain Their own existence. Wizard High Towers sprang up in various city-states. Even within the Reflection World, Necromancer Towers began to be built one by one, interweaving with the emerald secret realms.

A century passed. Because Divine Power was difficult to obtain, and converting the power of faith and status power into Divine Power was difficult, the gods used Divine Power and Divine Might less and less. Furthermore, a large number of deities who had fallen into slumber had Their domains seized by mortal humans, elves, and others, who used faith to become new gods. The entire inner side of the world also became increasingly chaotic.

However, amidst this chaos, the power of magic swelled ever more. The birth of Mages was more like the gravediggers of the old era. Mortals could master supernatural power in a cheaper way, and the degree to which supernatural power was popularized vastly exceeded everyone’s imagination.

This era was the era of the gods preaching, the era of the powerlessness of Rule Gods, and also an excellent opportunity for magic to flourish. Deities could not replenish Their lost Divine Power by collapsing higher dimensions to release energy, and were forced to regress into Faith Gods. There were even terrifying situations where deities were entangled by faith and completely degenerated.

All of this forced the gods to hide in the starry sky. Deities with sub-planes all lifted Their Divine Kingdoms high, turning them into stars, avoiding the entanglements of the mortal world as much as possible, and obtaining the power of faith in the form of proxy Demi-gods.

Newborn Faith Gods would also lift their Divine Kingdoms high, leaving the earth core, leaving the vortex. And this left an even greater blank space for magic.

Wizards, Warlocks, Knights, Warriors, Mages, and Vampires became the new supernatural elite. Traditional bloodline Heroes nearly went extinct, most having converted into Warlocks. Deities seemed to become legends, and even Mythical Wizards rarely appeared.

A brand-new sect, the Church of Hope, arose in the Northlands. It continuously expanded over the century, practically becoming the largest religion near the northern polar region. The Goddess of Hope even lifted Her Divine Kingdom high fifty years ago, transforming into the Star of Hope, guiding the North.

That star was emerald green. Some said the Goddess of Hope was an Elven God, but none of the Elven Gods knew Her; She was quite mysterious.

At the source of magic, the great holy land, the City-State of Thoth—if an Earthling transmigrated here, they would probably think they had arrived in the future.

Hundreds of floating cities with controllable nuclear fission magic cores drifted in the sky. People rode intelligent mechanical-magical facilities to fly. All walks of life in the entire magical society could not do without limited artificial intelligence and mechanization.

“Is this the ho-holy land of magic, the City-State of Thoth? Teacher Luna, this place is simply awesome!”

A fourteen- or fifteen-year-old boy, his face full of red freckles, frail in build, wearing a standard Mage Apprentice robe, shouted loudly while jumping.

The heroic-looking woman beside him smacked his head with a bang, shouting in a low voice: “This is the holy land of magic, where experts are as common as clouds. Don’t think it’s like we’re in Byrne City. Daru Byrne, tuck your cocky tail between your legs here.”

The woman looked about twenty years old, her appearance heroic rather than delicate and pretty. She wore standard Legendary Warrior light intelligent mecha produced by Betty Magic Company, looking extremely high-tech.

She touched her hand to a metallic, semi-circular bulge on her left wrist. Silvery-white metallic light flashed, covering her entire body. When the light disappeared, she was already wearing casual urban beauty attire: a light, fashionable white top, blue wide-leg capri pants, and twelve-centimeter crystal high heels on her feet.

Daru Byrne was dumbfounded. He looked at the drastically changed Luna, completely unable to see the demeanor of a legendary Warrior. She almost blended in with the residents of the City-State of Thoth who wore bizarre clothing.

“Tea-Teacher Luna… your outfit is too…”

Before he could finish, Luna grabbed him by the collar and dragged him into Luminous City.

“Too what? Your conservative aesthetics, and your hairstyle that’s a few hundred years out of date, all need to be properly changed.”

That night, Daru Byrne had a neat silkback shaved into his hair, wore a casual suit, and wore leather shoes, walking somewhat awkwardly on the street. Luna nodded in satisfaction and pulled him along to take the teleportation array leading to the floating cities in the sky.

“Floating cities are the pinnacle manifestation of magic. In Year 50 of the Magic Calendar, His Excellency the Mythical Wizard Warren proposed the theory of Great Magical Industry. And the floating city is the core manifestation of the magical industry; all highly sophisticated magical industries and brilliant ideas are concentrated here.”

Luna whispered to Daru Byrne.

White light flashed, and the figures of the two disappeared. With a slight wave of dizziness, Daru found himself in a bizarre city.

There were bright asphalt roads here, hundreds-of-meters-tall buildings everywhere, flashing lights, streetlamps emitting soft light, and people riding various convenient mechanical flying cars flying at low altitudes, making the young boy’s eyes widen as round as saucers.

“Is… is this the city of magic? Where are the magic carpets? Where are the mysterious wizards? This feeling is completely different from the wizards I understood!”

The boy couldn’t help but shout.

Luna held her forehead, led Daru away, and whispered: “Don’t embarrass me. Only within floating cities can you see this kind of almost dream-like magical metropolis. As for those Wizard Towers or even Mage Towers you saw on the Old Continent, in terms of magical craftsmanship, they are nearly three hundred years behind the floating cities!”
