Chapter 243: Project Fireseed

On the first floor of the West Tower, inside the Sealed Conference Room.

Small Controllable Light Orbs emitting soft light floated near the ceiling. The exterior of the walls was densely covered with Encryption Rune Arrays and Soundproof Rune Arrays, blocking the transmission of magical signals and sound.

The interior walls and floors were inscribed with Seamless Expansion Rune Arrays, making the entire conference room very spacious.

Sixty-five Advanced Wizard Apprentices were already seated in the fan-shaped tiered seating area. The rostrum was at the lowest point, allowing everyone to see the situation on the rostrum clearly.

Ace stood on the stage, looking at the sixty-five Advanced Apprentices dressed in Magic Robes of various colors and styles, with badges flashing the hexagram pattern on their chests. A surge of pride rose in his heart.

This was the trace he left in this world, the change he made in this world.

“Fellow Advanced Wizard Apprentices, Members of the Magic Council, I proudly announce to you that the Formal Wizard Promotion Experiment has achieved preliminary results. I have become a Quasi-Formal Wizard, with a life level comparable to a Divine Descendant Hero.”

With Ace’s words, the Advanced Wizard Apprentices on the tiered seats whispered among themselves, followed by thunderous applause.

“Lord Ace pioneered the path of Magic from scratch, and now he has pushed our path to the Hero level! Lord Ace is eternal!”

An Advanced Wizard Apprentice roared excitedly.

“Comparable to a Divine Descendant Hero! Lord Ace is worthy of the name Torch-Bearer.”

Betty whispered.

“Why is it called Quasi-Formal Wizard?”

Warren whispered somewhat puzzledly.

As Ace pressed his hands down in the air, Hero-level soul pressure was released. Everyone present immediately felt the immense pressure of rank, and the voices stopped.

“Some may ask, why Quasi-Formal Wizard, and not Formal Wizard. Here, I would like to standardize the definitions of our Wizard ranks.”

Everyone listened to Ace with interest, some showing thoughtful expressions.

Ace stood on the stage, used the Amplification Spell, and slowly explained to the apprentices:

“The actual status of our Wizard system can be temporarily divided from low to high into: Mental Overdrive User, Lesser Wizard Apprentice, Mid-level Wizard Apprentice, Advanced Wizard Apprentice, and Formal Wizard.

The so-called Quasi-Formal Wizard is a transitional state, referring specifically to a Wizard whose life level has advanced to be comparable to the Divine Descendant Hero level but has not yet obtained the corresponding power.

Through dissecting and observing Intermediate Monsters, we can clearly find that creatures at this level possess complex 3D Rune Structures. As an existence at the same level, a Formal Wizard should also be able to create complex 3D Spell Models in the Soul Sanctuary.

Here I re-standardize the ranks of runes. Lesser Runes are the lowest level. Soul Runes is a general term containing varying gaps in level. We have already observed in practice that some Soul Runes cannot be effectively observed by Advanced Wizard Apprentices.

Runes that can be effectively observed by Advanced Wizard Apprentices are called Level 0 Runes. Planar Spell Models combined from Level 0 Runes are called 0-Ring Spells.

Those who can combine Level 0 Runes into 3D Spell Models in the Soul Sanctuary are called 1-Ring Wizards, and spells composed of such Level 0 Runes are called 1-Ring Spells.

Soul Runes that can only be observed by 1-Ring Wizards are called Level 1 Runes. If one can use them to form Spell Models, they can be called 2-Ring Wizards, and their spells are called 2-Ring Spells.

Regarding this aspect, after I successfully combine 1-Ring Spells and 2-Ring Spells, I will write a paper to discuss it with you in detail. Now, please welcome our Advanced Wizard Apprentice, Magic Council Member Bayen, to bring his experimental results onto the stage.”

Bayen brought Harlan and the other two onto the stage. All three were at the level of Lesser Wizard Apprentice. They performed a few spells on stage, such as Lesser Mana Missile and Lesser Mana-Crystal Shield.

The Advanced Wizard Apprentices watched without understanding; a few even yawned.

Betty muttered somewhat dissatisfiedly: “What is that perverted cat old man doing? These Lesser Apprentices’ level is so poor. Is he treating us like monkeys?”

Other apprentices also expressed similar dissatisfaction. Due to Ace’s majesty, no one dared to complain loudly.

Just as the Council Members’ patience was almost exhausted, Bayen stopped the three from performing and said loudly using the Amplification Spell: “Respected Advanced Apprentices, Magic Council Members, these three people are the reason for this meeting!”

There was a buzz of discussion offstage. Various questioning voices and perception spells approached the three. The Council Members studied them with perception spells for a long time but found nothing abnormal.

At this time, Bayen continued: “These three are Divine Descendants…”

Before he could finish, the audience exploded like hot oil in a pan!

“What did you say?”

“How can Divine Descendants use Magic?”

“Don’t just find a few apprentices to impersonate Divine Descendants! How dare you deceive the great Lord Ace!”

“All Divine Descendants should be hanged!”

……

Ace pressed his hands flat, slowly releasing soul pressure. The crowd quieted down.

“I have verified it. These three are indeed Divine Descendants. Their hearts are inherently different, which is a characteristic of Divine Descendants.”

Ace had dissected the hearts of three Pseudo-Heroes, as well as the Divine Descendant Noble experimental subjects obtained in recent years, and had published relevant papers, which was sufficient proof.

“Lord Ace, I have an objection.”

A female Advanced Wizard Apprentice with a delicate face, wearing a white Magic Robe that could not hide her slender figure, walked onto the stage. It was the grown-up Ollie.

She was originally dedicated to researching Wind Element spells. However, Arno, who had advanced to Senior Knight Squire, found it increasingly difficult to cast spells. For her lover, she turned to research Divine Descendant Nobles, whose hearts were somewhat similar to Knights.

According to her agreement with Arno, she did not actively attack Divine Descendants.

But using only her beauty, she successfully lured several Divine Revelation users to attack her. Through this entrapment method, Ollie captured five Divine Revelation users for experiments.

“I conducted experiments on five Divine Revelation users for two years and determined that Divine Descendants cannot use spells! Please allow me to examine these three carefully.”

Ollie bowed to Ace and Bayen respectively and spoke softly.

Ace nodded in agreement. Ollie examined them carefully, her eyes widening and her small mouth slightly open. She said incredulously: “They really are Divine Descendants. Could different prerequisites lead to different results?”

Ace had already found the paper published by Ollie through the Grimoire. This paper was published in Spells in November of the 6th year of the Magic Calendar: Magic and Divine Descendants Insulation—And a Discussion on Knight Spellcasting Difficulty Syndrome. After browsing Ollie’s paper, Ace said:

“There is no problem with your research, only the final conclusion is wrong. The subjects of your research were Divine Revelation users, not Divine Descendants in general. You can only confirm that Divine Revelation users cannot use spells. Other unawakened ones, Pseudo-Heroes, Heroes, etc., are all unknown.”

Ollie immediately understood her mistake. After bowing and apologizing to Ace and Bayen, she turned and returned to her seat.

Afterward, Ace announced the plan he and Bayen discussed yesterday to everyone. It was refined through everyone’s discussion and finally named Project Fireseed.

The meeting passed unanimously, electing Quasi-Formal Wizard Ace as the Chairman of the Magic Council, enjoying legitimate arbitrary power, to prepare for the establishment of Magic Council branches in various city-states of Saria.

Sixteen Advanced Wizard Apprentices were selected. In eight groups of two, they would go to the eight city-states of Saria to cultivate underground Wizard organizations and select individuals with mental talent, whom the High Tower would receive periodically.

The dispatched Advanced Wizard Apprentices were appointed as the President and Vice-President of the respective Magic Council branch in the local city-state. Every three years, the High Tower would rotate them, rotating one person each time.

As for Divine Descendant Nobles, they would not be vigorously developed for the time being. Specific individuals would be selected for capture and subjected to long-term experiments within the High Tower territory. Only when the timing was deemed appropriate would vigorous development of Divine Descendant Nobles proceed.
