Chapter 474: Reality

Elena looked at the pale red liquid in the transparent glass bottle, observing it under the sunlight. The blurred pale red was so charming.

She smiled beautifully and said fiercely to the muscular black market merchant: “You should know what kind of person I, Elena, am. You can make a big profit, as long as this stuff is genuine. If you dare to sell me fake goods, I won’t let you off.”

The black market merchant chuckled: “Don’t worry, Elena of Black Street. This stuff is one hundred percent genuine, researched by a wizard. I know you really want to become a supernatural being. Unfortunately, you’ve been to all six major forces in the City of True Knowledge, and you don’t have any talent. This thing has certain defects; not everyone succeeds, but it is absolutely genuine!”

The merchant’s words touched upon the thing Elena was most unwilling to mention deep in her heart.

She recalled when she went to the Magic Council for testing—her mana affinity was zero. The Virtue Knights also didn’t want her. Without a trace of divine blood, she couldn’t go to the Temple. Even the Warrior Guild, which she looked down upon, told her after her repeated failures that there were always a few people who couldn’t activate blood energy.

That was why she was particularly jealous of that young fatty. Why could he become a wizard apprentice so easily and use the powerful Fireball Spell? The fire of jealousy burned fiercely in Elena’s heart.

Usually, as long as he paid, she would tolerate his clumsy advances. But that day, she didn’t control her jealousy and anger. She still remembered the fatty’s incredulous look.

Elena walked quickly, murmuring: “Noble wizard, dying in my hands just like that. It turns out your lives are also so fragile.”

Her tongue lightly licked her dry lips, and a glint of cold light flashed past.

Returning to her residence on Black Street, Elena paced around paranoidly for a few rounds. After confirming there were no problems, she closed the doors and windows.

Living relatively well in a slum like Black Street, where good and bad people intermingled, Elena relied not only on ruthlessness at critical moments but also on her caution and alertness.

There was a sentence written on the transparent glass bottle: “Drink it and you will gain power.”

Elena closed her willow-leaf eyes and drank the pale red liquid in one gulp.

“It’s a bit cold and slippery, feeling a bit fishy and sweet, but nothing strange.”

Just as Elena was puzzled, she suddenly felt her whole body heating up. Within two minutes, her whole body was scalding hot, red all over like a cooked prawn.

She hurriedly drank a glass of water, but it was of no use. Finally, she stuck her head directly into the water vat and drank a lot, “gulp, gulp.”

Because her body was too hot, she simply jumped into the water vat, finally feeling a trace of coolness.

Slowly, Elena fell asleep lying in the water vat. When she woke up again, it was midnight. Her body temperature had returned to normal, and her body felt nothing strange.

Somewhat disappointed, Elena walked out of the room, bathing in the moonlight. Unknowingly, her canine teeth gradually turned into sharp fangs, the fingernails of her hands turned into sharp claws, and a burst of stinging pain came from her back as a pair of tender bat wings grew out.

She easily lifted a giant stone she could never move in the past, only to realize that the future was indeed different from now on.

Elena leaped hard, actually jumping more than three meters high, far exceeding the limit of humans. She fell to the ground with a thud, knelt on the ground, laughing, tears and snot flowing.

The next day, Elena learned how to transform her body. This mysterious “Blood Source” gave her the ability to transform. When she transformed into the state with fangs, claws, and bat wings, she would possess strength, speed, and reaction power far exceeding ordinary people.

But when she transformed back to the normal human state, her strength, speed, reaction, etc., returned to normal. Moreover, every transformation had strong side effects—she would have a particularly strong desire to drink fresh blood.

….

Back to when Allen and Eva were tracking and pursuing Elena. Elena, who was punched by Allen, did not faint but pretended to faint.

She knew that erupting directly wouldn’t give her a decisive advantage. The opponent didn’t look as easy to deal with as that fatty. Fainting first to make the opponent careless, then erupting suddenly!

Her canine teeth rapidly grew into sharp fangs, her face became pale, and the fingernails on both hands grew into sharp claws. She twisted her head to claw at Allen’s head, her fangs biting towards Allen’s neck.

Allen was unprepared. Being bitten on the artery by Elena, he felt a burst of severe pain. Then, his right hand pressed against Elena’s abdomen, aiming at her heart. Enduring the severe pain, he quickly constructed the spell model “Minor Magic Missile.”

Thud!

The magic missile pierced directly through Elena’s body from the abdomen, flying out grazing her heart. Elena let go of her fangs and rolled onto the ground in pain.

Her blood gradually activated, consuming blood mana to slowly repair her body.

Allen’s neck lost the pressure, and blood from the carotid artery sprayed out directly, splashing a blood stream nearly a meter high. Elena opened her mouth greedily and sucked hard.

The blood stream actually swirled in the air and went into her mouth.

This blood was the blood of a junior wizard apprentice, inherently rich in mana. Obtaining the blood, Elena licked her lips. The injuries near her abdomen and heart healed rapidly. She picked up the dagger on the ground and walked gracefully towards Allen, who had lost his combat capability.

Boom!

A magic crystal gauntlet arrived first, striking directly on Elena’s cheek, knocking her flying. Elena was nearly crazy; she roared like a beast and looked up, only to see a woman.

The rising sun overlapped with this woman, making Elena squint her eyes involuntarily. She fought with the woman, only to be repeatedly pummeled by the woman’s reflective right arm like a sandbag.

“I can’t beat her!”

Elena had the intention to retreat. Taking advantage of the situation, she rolled, opened her wings, and flew towards the sky.

Although Eva wanted to chase, seeing Allen’s miserable state, she decided to save Allen first.

Two hours later, Magic Council Medical Department.

“Fortunately, you know some emergency treatment; otherwise, this kid would be completely cold before reaching me. I used medical magic to repair his arterial wall and poured two bottles of strength blood healt potion to accelerate hematopoiesis. Four secondary magic stones in total.”

The intermediate wizard apprentice wearing a white magic robe extended his hand and looked at Eva calmly.

Eva looked a bit embarrassed. She and Allen hadn’t done many tasks these past few days and only had three secondary magic stones.

“We only have three secondary magic stones. Would this work?”

The white-robed wizard apprentice weighed the secondary magic stones in his hand, pinched his nose, and said: “Fine, consider it my loss. Take good care of him.”

Eva watched the departing figure of the apprentice, bit her lip, looked back at the weak Allen lying on the bed, and murmured softly:

“Are the humans in the dream world really virtual? Whether it’s the woman who killed Bruce, this white-robed wizard apprentice, or even the various people I’ve met—why are they all so real?”
